Is this the biggest LA - Rice game ever?

Don't know as I would go so far as to say ever or even since I've been watching for the past, ahem, 40+ yrs. There have been lots of big games between the two schools over the years. But, this is for sure the biggest I can think of in recent memory.
I'm pondering this one. LA Rice have seemed to go in cycles as far as one being good while the other was down. And in the 90s they did not play every season so from my perspective last 25 years- yes. Before that probably in the '67-'81 window I recall Frank Maloney saying they may have been 2 best teams on paper in 1967. maybe 1980 also have to research. I would say no doubt one of top 3 all time Rice-LA matchups.

In Coach Mitch's last season '93 we had them on the ropes but couldn't finish the job. They went on to win 6a that year. We lost 3 games by a combined 11 points not including blowouts by mc and Rita. I remember it being one of the funnest hard fought game I ever played in. Sadly, LA's stud LB lost his life later that year in South Padre during spring break. He was a great player and even a better person.

We had a good team that year but underachieved. Best part of the game was our defense never let D cross the 50 and the other end was covered with snow.
I would cut Rice some slack probly toughest schedule in state that year. lost to eventual 6A champ LA, lost to Marist's best team of decade-they beat JC that year lost to LA 6A Q, played 5A semi DLS, played an 8-1 MC w McNabb, an 8-1 Rita 6A Q and Laurence who won a 6A game.

To commemorate biggest LA-Rice game since 1967, during tailgating "Incense and Peppermint" by the Strawberry Alarm clock will be played non-stop
It's also medicinal marijuana day at LA. All alums (and select MC alumni) can medicate in the parking lot.
