He was an official recruiter for us at one point. I kinda hope he's one of the sources. And if so, we should build a damn statue.

I never dreamed that he might have actually been part of it in this way. If so, he truly is one hell of a ninja.

Will I have to update my Croom Death Mask to a Newton Death Mask?

You can only have a certain number of official recruiters. Pretty sure he was taken off the list when Mullen and staff was hired.
He was only filling in during the interim from Walrus to Dan the Man.

Dude, Torbush was gone to Kansas when this was likely going down. We have a specific number of recruiters allowed by the NCAA. It's within some reason that a registered recruiter who wasn't a coach is one of the "recruiters" Espn refers to. Surely we didn't leave that spot unfilled between the departure of Torbush and the arrival of Diaz.

The Ninja did get the hell up and out of here while the coast was clear. I understand Byrne's move to Arizona to get closer to home and increase his pay. Then again, there is a thought in the back of mind that when he left there was other things building up he didn't want to see go down during his tenure.

I can't buy all that. I believe him when he said it was a move to get back home. Arizona was his home.

I doubt Arizona can out-spend us. And don't think for a second the freakin NINJA would run from controversy.

how many "recruiters" the NCAA allows you to have, but the AD would make sense because I could see where they would legitimately have to talk to prospective recruits and their parents.

And it seems to make sense to me that if I was trying to sell off my son to a school for 200K or whatever, I would probably want to talk to the AD about it, because to get that money, the AD is probably going to have to talk to some booster to get it.
