From the Glaring-Liar:
BLUE MOUNTAIN — Jerry Conner, who coached the Blue
Mountain College men’s basketball team to a 3-92 record in their first
three years of existence, has resigned effective May 1. Conner will
return to Phoenix, where several family members reside and where he was a
successful high school coach.<span class="aa"></span><div class="articleflex-container"> <div class="articleflex"> <span class="adlabel-horz"></span>

</div></div><span class="pp"></span>Blue Mountain’s
president, Dr. Bettye Rogers Coward, said a search for Conner’s
successor will begin immediately.

Certainly he can improve from 3-92.... Hell I could probably do that.....

Ironically, Conner was a college roommate of one Ron Polk years ago. Not sure if it was a prep school, juco, or sr. college but I live about 30 minutes from Blue Mountain College and when they were getting the mens program started he came to our Church and spoke for a few minutes, telling his past, plans for the team. Told several stories about Ron and saying what a good guy and friend he was. Dont recall him using the word gracious though.

On top of starting mens basketball 3+ years ago, they are starting a baseball and golf team this year. They have been a traditionally a womens college with the exception of clergy but opened up to men in more fields of study 3-5 years ago. Not an oppurtunity for athletic success competition wise but for the individuals who can get the scholarships you cant beat it. Not sure what it is now but their tuition is outrageous, last time it checked it was a good chunk of change more than MSU or UM-Oxford.
