Is this the year that the SEC does not win the MNC?

I wish Bleacher Report would just die.

Everyone said this past season was the season the SEC quit winning it all. I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama wins it once again this year. They have to be the overwhelming favorite.

Hard to argue against Bama. They have it in reload mode.

I feel like they have passed everyone when it comes to reloading linemen on both sides of the ball and that is what makes a difference in a 13 game season in the SEC.

A lot had to happen for Bama just to get the opportunity to crush ND, but I think they will actually be better w/ an easier schedule. It would be a shame for the top teams to beat up on one another and end up w/ OSU vs. OR when you know the top three or four from SEC would crush both.

I've learned to not doubt saban, but I'm hardheaded. I think Alabama will be very good, but no national championship this year. I think saban is better at reloading the dl than the ol. I don't think they're as good offensively after losing warmack, jones, and fluker.

How the blue hell do they have the bears in this article? Did the writer lose a bet and have to include them?

TSUN is in almost every Bleacher Report article on CF. It's usually the second thing I look for - after any evidence of actual research and substantiated argument.

I can't speak for all the SEC teams...

But Bama's odds of winning are likely better than previous NC runs....

the slate is favorable (read "easy")... if the new OL replacements pan out and the 2ndary gels early, this team may be Saban's best...

Tusk picks Bama?

I thought I might hear a little bit of poor mouthing but then I had some more coffee and woke up.

You guys are so lucky Saban already tested the NFL and would probably never go again.

The best chance for a non-SEC team to win it will be for an SEC team not to make it because of their tough schedule. The next best chance would be a team that relies on Defense and special teams, and therefore has a slim margin of error, to make it from the SEC (basically UF last year). But it's hard for a team like that to make it through the SEC. Even when we have teams that rely on their D like Bama and LSU, they generally have a pretty solid ground and pound offense.

Once the playoff system starts, if the SEC remains like it has, it will be very hard for non-SEC teams to win, unless they set up the rules so that conferences can only send one team to the playoffs. I think Alabama or A&M would have been favored to reach the finals if you put them in a 4 team playoff last year, and Florida or Georgia would have been good enough to, although probably not favored.
