Great decision. I have nothing but respect for this kid and his family for the intelligent approach to all of this. Smart move.
Yeah I can’t argue with that. He is probably making the right decision and still ranks fairly high. Hopefully he can still make it to Columbia down the road.

He say being young now isn’t a good thing? I’m sorry. You’re making money playing basketball in HS? He can become wealthy enough in college playing basketball that your level of financial stress will be minimal if you live within your means. I don’t have a problem with his decision. Makes sense to me, but i disagree with that statement.

My God. This is absolutely everything that is wrong with sports right now. It's certainly a smart financial decision, but for goodness sake, what does this say about playing for the love of the game instead of the love of money?

He gets paid in high school right now to play basketball?!?. That's absolutely ridiculous!

With the portal fluctuations and the rule change about G league players now being eligible for NCAABB, he may have a point. And regarding what it means for his skill set, finances aside, seems like a self-aware move.

I don’t think it says anything about love of the game vs money. He’s still playing at a level appropriate for him, still has all his college eligibility. He was already playing basketball and someone decided to pay him. He didn’t play simply because of money.

Pretty sure he meant bc the portal allows teams to bring in veterans who on average take the spot of the younger guy which in turns devalues your nil value. He is right for the majority. He indicated the NBA was a long shot for him so trying to make money playing as long as he can.

Coming out of hs early is not the best thing for the majority
