**Totally disagree. The fans preparedness has pretty significant impact on the outcome of the game.

Right?

While I understand what you are getting at, and I agree 99.9%, you could make an argument that "fan preparedness" matters. Players, especially college players, interact daily with fans (classmates). If fans are asking about Bama rather than MTSU this week, that may have an effect on the player. If all they are hearing this week is "Y'all are so awesome! 7-0 going into Bama!" from fans, they may be more likely to overlook MTSU.

Also, fans may "overlook" a game and more apathetic (less rowdy) at the game... or even worse, not show up at the game. Most likely not the case with Homecoming this week, but the way fans act at a game affects home field advantage.

So... "fan preparedness" probably matters a little bit. But in the grand scheme of things... a very, very little bit.

Our practice this week is ALL about Bama, I bet and hope. We have to be able to look past Mid Tenn, because then we can use 2 weeks to prepare for Bama.

Of course, maybe that is what we were thinking against Maine.

Exactly, I expect the fans to be preparing to wear the right shade of maroon this week for the Alabama game. It really grinds my gears when state fans wear crimson on game day.

I look at it like this... If yall can't "look past" Middle TN St. and still beat them by 2-3 TDs, it won't matter how many weeks MSU preps for Bama...

I hope we are looking ahead.

Beating Alabama is going to take all the planning, scheming, and practice we can manage.

I hope we prep for MTSU too, and I hope that prep won't take much time or effort. There is surely a some synergy, or overlap, in preparing for each. But schematically, we've got to throw the kitchen sink at Bama.

We are notorious for playing down to our competition. This team has yet to play 4 quarters of football. The TN game was the closest with 3. That could be looked at as a good or bad. Good because we haven't played to our full potential, bad because it could cost us a game due to taking it easy.

I get what you are saying and understand it but disagree completely. Showing up at Bama undefeated is a huge thing for the program. We need to stay focused and make certain that we win the games that are very winnable.

Question: Which team has better odds of beating the higher ranked team, MTSU this week or MSU next week? I am not 100% sure of the answer since Bama is ridiculous good but would hope it is us against Bama.
