Time for this fanbase to start investing in this program. We have an opportunity to seize momentum right now. For those that aren’t already part of our NIL program the time is now. 1878 is waiting!! Several of you said all summer you needed to see improvements and proof of concept. You got that yesterday, now isn’t the time to move the goalpost.
We need investment and we need to sell out DWS for the Mizz game in 2 weeks it will be a night game and I have a feeling we will be 3-0 going into the game

I hope we win every game but I am not giving a penny to pay college athletes, especially when they can transfer to the highest bidder.

It's a ridiculous system. I cannot even read a positive story about Mississippi State without seeing "Kamario will either be at LSU or Ohio State, maybe Georgia next year."

This may be my one man pep rally moment in MSU fandom, but the rest of the country does not want MSU to succeed. They don't want Mississippi to thrive in any way. I have worked my *** off for the better part of 25 years trying to make this state better. It's the same crap over and over. We turn education around in this state and it's "They cheated." Prove the data is right and its "Well, I don't believe it, its Mississippi."

The same thing is happening with Kamario. We are two weeks into his sophomore season and the discussion is where will he be next year.

This is why you rightly catch so much hell on this board.

Stop making assumptions about people. Many here give. Some give a lot. I give more than I should, really for two reasons: 1. I love Mississippi State and 2. I'm a freaking idiot. What you need to hear is that you shouldn't begrudge people for not choosing to spend disposable income in a manner that you don't like, and you shouldn't be questioning their fandom if they don't. All of your posts reek of "I'm going to make an assumption that all of you deplorables on this site don't spend on the program, so I'm going to preach to you about why you should based on some false hope/hype, and demonstrate that I'm a better fan than you are."

Every year we smack around a shltty nonconference opponent, pack out the stands for the first sec home game, and proceed to crap the bed. It's happened more often than it hasn't. I don't blame people for not wanting to shovel money into a black hole without actually seeing results first.

Of course, I give, and I will be there for the Mizzou game just like all the others. So at least you can't virtue signal about how much better of a fan you are than me.

You know the comment wasn’t about those that give right. Why are you so angry that I posted about our fans stepping up. Oh that’s right you don’t want this staff to succeed.

I feel you. I used to share the mindset but I gave up in 2023. I realized how much Mississippi holds itself back.

I think everybody with our mindset eventually gives up. Call it burnout or what you will but I decided not to fight that unwinnable fight forever.

What I’m trying to say is, there is no “they”. The rest of the country simply doesn’t care about us.

Reading is fundamental.

This was the focus:

What you need to hear is that you shouldn't begrudge people for not choosing to spend disposable income in a manner that you don't like, and you shouldn't be questioning their fandom if they don't. All of your posts reek of "I'm going to make an assumption that all of you deplorables on this site don't spend on the program, so I'm going to preach to you about why you should based on some false hope/hype, and demonstrate that I'm a better fan than you are."

I donate monthly to my current and last previous employers.

I should donate to Southern Miss since I make a living thanks to the polymer science** degree I earned there.

MSU though… Part of me wants to donate, but I was pretty disappointed in its lack of student academic support back then…

Every year we smack around a shltty nonconference opponent, pack out the stands for the first sec home game, and proceed to crap the bed. It's happened more often than it hasn't. I don't blame people for not wanting to shovel money into a black hole without actually seeing results first.

True that

With that said, the Lyceum series stepped up with a great show Friday night.

Leslie Odom Jr. was excellent. I may buy a ticket to that Irish music show in December

Of course, I give, and I will be there for the Mizzou game just like all the others. So at least you can't virtue signal about how much better of a fan you are than me.

Nah. It won’t stop him.

An irony about virtue signalers is that they tend to lack virtue…

Anyway, hope State does well, but find it interesting that @Bulldawg77 constantly wants the poors** to give more….

Today‘s spending other people’s money post of the day.

Exactly.

Fortunately, most folks here know now that Bulldawg77’s thoughts lack substance…

I don't own a team, I'm not paying any players.
That's a great point I've never considered. We need an NCAA Stock market to issue MSU shares. I'd be inclined to buy now and sell later. Unfortunately, it seems like this whole NIL thing is way to funnel gambling money and a guy like me is a drop in the bucket compared to that.

I dont currently give.
I dont plan to give in the near future.

Structurally, it would be a mistake to have NIL at MSU set up as a small donations program.
MSU Administrators must be tasked with securing funds from large corporate donors and wealthy individual boosters. Major gifts from these two groups need to account for 75% or more of NIL collective revenue.

You are correct of course

One reason I have no respect for @Bulldawg77 is that he lacks awareness when it comes to giving…

I’ve told him several times to let the professionals do their jobs…

His bake sale approach to NIL - everyone must contribute donuts to MSU - makes me roll my eyes, and then he compounds that by insulting people constantly…

Not a good look for him or MSU’s NIL efforts.

Our first win last year was a struggle against USM, our second win was sheer luck on a last minute miracle. These 2 wins were pure domination from the first drive. These 2 things are not the same. I know logic is complicated but the square block and the round hole are not the same.
USM was infinitely better than ULM is, and Arizona State was better than MN is by order of magnitude. So, I agree with you about square blocks and round holes.

I would probly agree with the opponents quality but the two performances were vastly different. As I stated, we struggled against USM and then purely got lucky against ASU. If you disagree I suggest you watch the games again. And we really dont know that ASU was better than the Gophers. Supposedly they are a good solid tesm. The pundits may be wrong. Maybe they are not . Decent QB. The rest of the team looked bad. We will find more out Saturday. Maybe some of y'all won't move the goalposts when we win. Let's all congratulate Canon Boone also

I agree a million percent that we struggled with USM and I still have the sunburn from watching that feeble effort in person. And I agree a million percent that we got very lucky with ASU, just like we got lucky at Arkansas. But that doesn't change the fact that ASU last year was better than MN this year, or that USM last year was better than ULM this year. I think there's a ton of overreaction right now from people looking to believe this year is different. I want it to be different too. But I've seen this movie too many times. I've got to see it play out to make sure it's not the same movie.

Oh yeah. We did our very best effort to lose to Arkansas. The refs just wouldn't allow it. And that 4 and 0 crap didn't fool me last year. I thought we pulled some rabbits out of our a$$es to get there. Never looked good. We looked decent in 3 games but gave them away for various reasons. This team looks smoking hot to me. When the game is over in the first quarter I love it. I believe. Still tho I know it can flip real quick but I'm gonna stay positive until it does. And yeah I know we are Mississippi State. But maybe its our turn.

There is overreaction right now, but on the other hand State has dominated both teams in front of them. We do need to see them against SEC opponents to know exactly what we’ve got. I don’t believe we’ll have a great season(9+ wins) this year but feel confident we can get 6-8 wins and setup for a fun year in 2027.
