It is looking like Calhoun is the new HC at Tennessee

Or at least there are reports coming out of Knoxville and Colorado Springs thinking so

Air Force ranked nationally near the bottom (Croomville) in passing offense. I can't imagine them going in a totally different direction.

Oh, and say goodbye to any WR recruits who are left.

but if he does choose to run the triple option at UT, I can guarantee opposing coaches in the SEC are not going to enjoy prepping for Tennessee.

You've seen the triple option the last two years first hand against Georgia Tech. It can work at the highest levels, at least to a certain extent, and if UT does run it, teams are not going to enjoy prepping for it next year.

Calhoun used to coach for the Houston Texans, I'm not sure in what capacity, but I believe it was offense. So, he does have some experience with pro-style offenses.

Plus, if you coach at a service academy, they pretty much demand a option-flexbone style of offense. I can't say I blame them- it has worked for pretty much all of them.

This could be why we backed off the Air Force ***'t DC - probably going to TN or staying at AF.

Or maybe he just didn't impress Mullen. Who knows

I think that GT will not be as tough to defend in the future. The jury is still which style of offense this guy would run. If he decieded to keep the same system the talent level would go down in the furture.

the ACC the be "the highest levels" of college football? I sure don't. Sure, GT beat MSU but the got dismantled by LSU in a bowl game year before last and beat pretty soundly by Georgia this year. The triple-option is a gimmick offense. If you catch someone by surprise it works, but if you are playing it week-in, week-out in the SEC you are going to get your *** handed to you. This doesn't even take into account the number of QBs you will get killed during the year.
