Oh, I'm afraid the stadium will be quite operational when our friends arrive...

Guys, I think we did a ****** job designing this. Vaught Hemingway's endzone is obviously much nicer than ours.

Great facilities = we can compete with anyone. But we got to find Bully I's remains.

In the old days when most of the athletic budget was made up of ticket sales, we could not compete with the Tennessee's of the world which had 100,000 seat stadiums. For example, when Davis Wade was a run down 40,000 seat stadium , a recruit might not even think about going to State compared to a Tennessee which had a huge stadium, a great weight room, etc. (Remember that until 1999, Davis-Wade had a capacity of only 40,656).

SEC TV money is one factor that levels the playing field. For example other teams may still have a larger budget than we do. But it gets to the point that we have enough money to do what needs to be done to have great facilities.
With our current facilities, we can compete with anybody . I went by Davis-Wade a couple of weeks ago. It looks great. I think a 62,000 seat Davis-Wade stadium looks a lot better than an old add-on erector set stadium like LSU's even if it is 100,000 seat facility. The Leo Seal Jr. facility is top notch too.

The one thing that remains (as it were) to do is to find the actual remains of Bully I and put up a plaque honoring him alone . The curse will then be removed. (Nobody wants to address it. But as I said in my previous post, we can't blame Bully I for being pissed and haunting us. We need to make amends to Bully I NOW. )

I'm sure you have to be joking, but the honored dog had a funeral that would rival the funeral of most heads of state, there's a statue in his honor in front of the union, AND a memorial for all mascots inside DWS. But you want to go digging around for him so he'll quit being pissed and cursing us for being buried on campus?

The pictures from the 1940 annual show he was buried about a yard out of bounds.

Yes, I am joking. But like most superstitions, something in the back of my mind worries me. He had a great funeral in 1939. And we said that we would never forget him. I realize that there are other monuments to Bullies. But we have not put anything where he was actually buried. Meanwhile, people step on his actual grave, etc. Or maybe dug him up with the construction work. And our last SEC championship was the year after his great funeral. Kind of makes me wonder.

Maybe just a nice little plaque where he was actually buried would satisfy him. It is worth a try. It obviously can't be a raised monument or something a player might get hurt on.

I worked for campus landscape around the summer of 82ish. We cut the sod up and did a crap load of dirt work that summer. Cut trenches 4-5" wide 2-3' deep about every 18" inches from side to side including sidelines. Filled the trenches with sand so the field would drain better. If Bully was there nobody told us. I suspect if anything was left he gone. No way the grave would have been intact after putting in the pump system. Whenever that was installed.

Scott Field is a hot MOFO in July without some much as a hint of a breeze between the stands.

I agree with what you are saying in the long haul, but remember that the Kang recruited quite well for some years, without many facilities at all. Including probably the best team in my lifetime.

** We only built it because we're jealous OM went to the Music City Bowl last year.

guys, i hate to be a downer, but lets look back to what we were promised and what we ACTUALLY got:

this is downright embarrassing. how could these renderings be so far off from reality? the signage is different, the wood is darker, the video board isnt even showing the same pictures, and where are all the ghosts we were promised?

guys, ole miss fans were right....the new dudy noble will look nothing like this:

i bet there wont even be the same number of tents in the outfield. this is just some pie in the sky rendering and we all know it. we should save ourselves form further embarrassment and go ahead and fire stricklandz.

You know I was looking at the same thing last week. Over the past 10 years we've added much more than any other team in the sec. Looking at davis wade past when we had 30k stadium most had 80-100k. But within the last ten years we've grown a lot faster than anyone else. Let's hope that trend continues as we may very well have a 100k stadium in the next ten years

Is it just me or does "Hail State Eats" seem to be a bit of a forced name? They should have gone with "Hail Taste"

All I want to know is this:

What is on the back of the new scoreboard? I haven't seen a picture of the exterior of the expansion in a few weeks.

My question is what are we gonna do when OM puts in another 10000 seats and have a bigger stadium again? That's obviously the big question **
