Our previous 4 losses to Vandy were by 3, 4, 7 and 11 points. 25 points combined. We lost by 24 on Saturday, more than doubling the margin of our previous worst loss to them.

Someone else said it, but this can’t be treated as another awww shucks tough conference loss.

This was a humiliation. It’s the kind of loss that should make Beamer question every decision he’s ever made in coaching.

Why can't coaches like Beamer reprimand/scold their employees to change things that obviously aren't working like other managers/bosses do?
If privately doing so doesn't implement changes, go for public embarrassment and threats of replacement.
Not doing so means you're ok with how things are going.

I would wager that there is alot of that behind closed doors. At least, I guess I hope there is. I can explain away not making it public, but i can't explain away it not happening.

I am sure that Beemer is talking to him behind the scenes about getting the offense going, but there is zero chance he is a Saban type who is going to chew someone out. He doesn’t have the weight that Saban had to do that.

Wasn't a coordinator. It was the defensive backs coach, Ron Cooper.

Saban was all about defense. He needed offensive coaches.

And he eventually went out and got them. Sarkisian, Kiffin, etc. He was capable of change, and Beamer does not. He stubbornly refuses to see reality as it is.

It takes willing to pay up to get the best coordinators available and LUCK. Is Garrett Riley living up to his paycheck? NO. That's where the luck comes. The first step is to "Pay Up". Clemson is willing to pay up. The more and more I think about it, I suspect that the university gives lip service to giving us a first class football program. Talk is cheap. And a lot of our fan base buys their "talk". I'd like to be proven wrong.
