Italy - Paraguay thread.

Following the game loosely on LiveStats. Wish I had recorded it. Anybody know why Italy replaced their GK to start the 2nd half? Seems like a pretty drastic move.</p>

He's been their keeper for a while so I couldn't imagine taking him out after giving up 1 goal. Looks like we may have our first real World Cup upset if things hold up. Long way to go though. I know Azurri's not happy right now.

not sure where that came from, though. as far as i know he hadn't been having problems. and it's not like he did anything the entire first half.

italy's really turned it up the last few minutes. almost scored again right there.

ESPN is saying hamstring injury for Buffon.

Losing Buffon hurts bad. He is still one of the best in the world. They just said it was hamstring problems, so who knows.

I didnt have high expectations for this squad. Of course, the US is my #1 team, Azzurridawg is just a nod to my heritage - and I do love Italian futbol, I just happened to change my screen name right after the last world cup. So thats that.

Kind of impressed they pulled it back together. Halftime seemed to cure the meltdown it looked like a few of the Italians were about to have.

It was probably the rain, but I agree with the post game announcers; they looked very slow. And I do agree about Buffon, he's still awesome.</p>

The Italians are my most hated team...they are from Europe, have a European style of team play (which I like), but they are a bunch of ***** *** whiners like all of Central/South America (and thePortuguesebitches). Take your licks like a man and get up and go. <div>
