p.s. - There's been several times when I would have gladly paid $35 for a room for an hour - don't recall being at an airport.

That's good to file away, should I ever need to meet with important people in Dallas. (Why do I envision Byrne and associate AD Scott Stricklinin ten-gallons and bolos?). Seriously, though, this makes me wonder just how much cash MSU is spending in its quest for a new coach. Much of it will likely be hid in the private Bulldog Foundation, which isn't subject to the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983, so my bet is we'll never know.

Veazey's referring to hidden costs. He made reference to being surprised that Byrne's traveling privately and is likely taken care of by the Bulldog Foundation. Also, significant portions of the coaches' salaries are paid for via the Bulldog Foundation, and the financial aspects of it aren't completely available except for some IRS information, and even then it's not complete.

Whoever the coach is will likely be paid somewhere around $200,000 from state funds, and that figure is probably somewhere around 10 percent of what the coach is going to make. The Bulldog Foundation will pay the rest.
