and the board is not in complete meltdown mode. this year has been very pleasant thus far with it mot being 90 percent full of Mullen can't recruit or the bears are gonna leave us in the dust threads. hope fully it stays this way and it should with the class we are bringing in given its size.

Beating Ole Miss is always a catharsis regardless of whatever else is going on for us.

Patience... I believe their first recruiting weekend is coming up this weekend, I am sure come Saturday night/Sunday morning, the board will be filled with threads of midnight rendezvous' at gas stations with our most prized recruits.

Recruiting is subjective, the analyst with their stars try to debunk that fact

but never the less it is subjective and hyped and you never know what you are getting until you have had it a while. I guess some folks are starting to figure that out.

We currently have the next to last rated class in the SEC, and the only team that we're beating(Vandy) just lost their coach. There are certainly a few committed guys that I'd hate to lose at this point, but we don't exactly have a Chris Jones in this year's class to worry about.

Again, it's next to last because some guy says it is. We have, what, 18 commits? If you added 2-3 more 4 stars and 4-5 more three stars to make a completely full class then our class would be ranked much higher. Don't believe me? Go listen to some of Paul Jones podcast and he'll say the same exact thing multiple times. We have a pretty dang good class this year. We've filled specific holes with guys that are perfect for what we do here. And who's to say we don't have a Chris Jones in this class? For probably 75% of his recruitment nobody wanted him and he was a 2/3 star. Who's to say one of these guys we have on board aren't just as talented as Chris and no one properly evaluated him just like was done for the large part of Chris's recruitment. Don't pay attention to what these 17ers say about our class and look at the actual guys we're bringin in.

first weekend was last weekend. and it was mostly for our in-state guys. This weekend is for the out of the state guys. Big DL targets coming in this weekend (hopefully).

stars are nothing more than another mans opinion ... and he probably isn't or ever has been a coach .... I'll take Mullens / Collins opinion over some unknown

Not that I disagree that this is a solid class for its size, I doubt there are 2-3 more 4 starts we'd offer and get if we were going to sign the full 25. Presumably we'd be adding seven more 3 stars, or maybe six more three stars and one mis-evaluated 4-star that we would have in our top 25 but not top 18. (And I recognize that it's still possible that we could add another 4 start in this class, just pointing out that if you were going to 'fill out' our class to figure out what it would be ranked, you'd probably do it by adding 3 star players.

Exactly. You

hit the nail on the head. What the geniuses that keep spouting this BS don't ever mention is that our class is ranked low because of the number (total) of recruits. Our staff apparently did not want a 25+ man class, for whatever reason. If they did, I can gurantee you the 7+ spots would be filled with guys that would bump the rankings up to something that would (possibly, probably not) satisfy these clowns. I'm not even going to dive into the topic of the rankings being judged by some nobody(s).

Well, if we re-shuffled the list by 247's avg commit rating in order to take the number of commits out of play, we're still next to last and actually come in behind Vandy.

Whatever the case, my point was not to disparage this year's class. It was to indicate that we don't have any "super recruits" committed this year nor are we really in play for any, so that's what is limiting the more so than anything else.
