It's a simple formula. Beat LSU once, we go to Hoover.....

We already know Kentucky and Tennessee are out. Beat LSU, and there's no way they can tie with us, as we have 2 more wins than them. Absolutely no way Ole Miss will sweep Arkansas, so at best, all they can do is tie us if they win 2 and we win 1, with us winning the tiebreaker.

Of course, we could just win all 3 and win the West. But LSU is going to be a tough out. It would be an MState thing to do to go on and lose all three.

Like you say, if ole miss wins 2 and we win 1, we are tied with them. But we would be tied with Arkansas as well.

If there is a 3-way tie between us, Arkansas, and ole miss, then we would all have the same 3-3 record against each other. The next tiebreaker would be record against the #1 SEC Tournament seed, then #2...down to #8. I dunno how the top willfinish, but it will be some order of Vanderbilt / South Carolina / Florida. Only common opponents between all tied teams count andole miss didn't play Vandy, so they're irrelevant.

If it comes down to record against South Carolina, ole miss beat them so they would be top of the 3, then Arkansas (head-to-head over us), then us.

If it comes down to record against Florida, Arkansas won their series so they would be top of the 3, then us (head-to-head over ole miss), then ole miss.

If we win 2there's no way we're left out, but if we win 1 there's a chance we don't make it: South Carolina would have to finish ahead of Florida and ole miss would have to beat Arkansas twice.

If they get swept by Vandy, they would be 15-15.They lost 2 out of 3 at Auburn and 2 out of 3 at Kentucky and a game against Mercer in between so they are not exactly playing their best ball heading into the Vandy series. Are there any scenarios that put 5 teams from the West in ahead of UGA?

Alabama wins the series AT South Carolina. If Alabama gets swept they would be out. If they win one they would be in a FOUR way tie with MSU, ARK and OM in your scenario. They obviously could win the series in Columbia but I don't expect them to. However given we lost the series to them that likely won't help us anyway. Unfortunately our best tiebreaker situation is with Auburn but they have the easiest series this upcoming weekend and likely have the best chance to win the West outright. That's why I really wanted them to lose the series to Bama this weekend. That would have given us our easiest path to Hoover to stay in a tiebreaker situation with them. Of course, if we just win our series we don't have to worry about any of this.

You are correct. I was just stating that simply winning 1 game doesn't guarantee us a spot in Hoover. But 2 and we're in for sure.

I think we'll be scoreboard-watching until Saturday night, whether it's for Hoover for for the SEC West.
