I keep seeing articles stating we have a housing affordability crisis. Prices certainly have exploded. The one macro stat that people ignore is our population in 2000 was 281 million and today is 341 million, a 21% increase. Since the birth rate is low, this is not organic growth.

Around here they are building apartments like crazy, which is not the American dream. Baby boomers are going to be passing, which will open up some supply, but housing prices is going to be a big political issue. The attached article says Bessent is thinking about declaring a national housing emergency, which means more taxpayer money; the BBB had tax credits for affordable housing.

I think it is a real issue but not sure the government should be getting into the guaranteed affordability business. Maybe stop all the immigration -- with AI, we probably have a looming job crisis coming anyway.

Major, major issue coming our way. Boomers had decent sized families and bought 4-5 bedroom homes in the suburbs. Young people cannot afford them at the current price, and they don't want them, they are having 1-2 kids max. We have a commercial real estate problem now in most cities. The residential housing issue is coming to a head soon.

Schools are facing issues too. Contracting in many areas, because people are having less kids. Schools will close, people will lose jobs. It needs to happen, but it's going to be painful. Will there be new industries looking to hire them?

Oh Rill you are such a clown show. “Colorado is on FIRE. We need both sides to have a dialogue.”

Now you are just lying to yourself. You are a squishy moderate, you don’t need us to have an argument.

Not a single person will say that man doesn’t impact their ecosystem. You are either an extremely ignoramt person who just now learned man impacts the local environment or you were pushing Global Warming. I’ll go with Global Warming but you are free to claim ignorance.
@bucshon seriously though. Why is this poster impervious to your rules?

And you didn’t mention that California had its hottest year on record in 2024. You and the media are the same, never look at the entire picture.

So, squishy, do you or don't you believe in Global Warming?

As for weather, I don't believe any of that crap. I do know Dallas had like 4 one hundred degree days this summer which is well below average. I do know the east coast had a very early fall and DC was unusually cool.

But delusional squish will lie to himself and say "I was never talking about Global Warming".

You support sanctuary cities by sitting out the election for the bully pulpit and you may have been the only person in CO to write in RDS.

In his perverted mine, he has to justify his "vote" somehow. Hell, he could have written in my name too as I also don't support sanctuary cities. But, it would have been an equally worthless and spineless vote.

Tucker Carlson appears to have a group of supporters that are sturdy followers. I do not happen to be one. I see him more as a bright guy that looks to feed his faithful followers more than doing productive journalism and commentary. I am sure he still does some good work, I just rarely pay attention to it.

A Bill O article on his recent comments(that I honestly was not aware of):

My old Fox News teammate Tucker Carlson garnered some attention last week when he told commentator Michael Knowles that he believes Joe Biden is more “evil” than Vladimir Putin.

Wow.

My new book, “Confronting Evil,” will be out September 9, and Putin is on the cover along with Mao, Hitler, and the Ayatollah Khomeini. No Joe.

A dozen more horrendous miscreants are analyzed inside the book.

So, Mr. Carlson’s opinion caught my attention. Let’s run it down.

Tucker Carlson is perhaps the best media marketer in the country. He’s smart and, very early on, perfected the art of getting attention. Very similar to Donald Trump.

In this age of unrestrained social media, provocative statements can get you quick notice. Framed consistently against prevailing wisdom, controversy, and conspiracies can also make you a lot of money.

Vladimir Putin is a mass murderer. He is responsible for scores of documented political assassinations, and his invasion of Ukraine in 2022 has resulted in an estimated one million Russian casualties. In addition, according to the United Nations, 50 thousand Ukrainian civilians have been killed or wounded by Putin’s forces. Ten million human beings have been displaced. Putin is now charged with war crimes by the International Criminal Court. Warrants are out for his arrest.

Nevertheless, Tucker Carlson said this: “Putin has been the most effective leader in my lifetime... He’s been a very stable leader for Russia. But why is he more evil than Joe Biden?”

Now, you can evaluate that statement for yourself, and if you need more backup on bad Vlad, my book will provide it.

However, it’s worth a hard look at President Biden in order to put Carlson’s statement into a truthful perspective.

In “Confronting the Presidents,” my bestseller written last year, I opine that Biden is the second-worst president in history. The title holder is James Buchanan, a coward who enabled the South to start the Civil War.

Biden’s legacy is nothing. Very few accomplishments. He created the enormous migrant problem by violating his presidential oath - he simply would not enforce U.S. immigration law.

That directly led to violent deaths and chaos as millions of alien criminals poured into the USA. This is documented truth.

Did President Biden commit an evil act? Yes, he did. Was it done with the INTENTION of doing vast harm? I don’t believe so.

My analysis of Joe Biden is that he believes in nothing. The man is a hollow shell and may have been mentally compromised when he took the oath of office in 2021. Biden did what his handlers told him to do. And many of his so-called “advisors” are far-left open-border zealots.

If you compare the human damage Biden did as opposed to Putin, it’s not even close. There are various levels of evil, as Dante clearly spelled out.

Therefore, Tucker Carlson’s analysis is wrong. That doesn’t excuse Biden, but it’s important to be precise in these matters.

Vladimir Putin is a dangerous threat to the entire world. He would use nuclear weapons, I believe. He is not an “effective” leader, a Russian patriot, or a man who has any positive attributes.

He is a murderous savage. And that is the truth.

I’ve never talked about Global Warming. I just happen to believe that human caused heat zones and the depletion of fresh water lakes has an impact on the environment around us. Notice I didn’t say anything about oil, or cow farts, or any of the other nonsense that you have previously accused me of talking about.

Somehow I also don’t call you names or rant about you late at night and early in the morning. But ya, I’m the delusional one.

Why are you impervious to rules? You are guilty of stalking. And frankly the fact that you don’t understand the difference in what upper 50’s person can do versus you, the R2D2 athlete likely 15-20 years younger, is weird. It’s like asking Tiger Woods to out drive Bryson DeChambeau. Your crying is unimpressive. How many names have you posted under?

He's already been caught in so many lies. He was caught in his lie that "I" challenged him to a race. Never happened - he challenged the old folks home. His "alleged" and unverified mile time of sub 4:20 is excellent and nothing I could ever approach in my prime. But, I've met and known so many superior runners than him that his all-state and D3 achievements while nice, are generally unimpressive.

Top of the list will always be the great Peter Snell who I met at an orienteering meet through my brother who was friends with him. 2 Time Mile World Record holder.

Now, I did challenge Icky to climb the highest mountain in 1 of 5 states: Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming or Alaska. My challenge occurred when these summits were accessible. His excuse was he is too busy and Utah is too far away. With September upon us, these summits will soon become snow covered for the next 9 months (Alaska and Oregon are snow covered year round).

I am heading to a charity event this Wednesday. I know there are some guitar fans in here. Any thoughts to the value of a custom OM style guitar by Dave Grande signed by Emmylou Harris, Wynonna Judd, Delbert McClinton, Lyle Lovett, Bonnie Raitt, George Strait, and Rodney Crowell?

Your such an optimist !

You're one of those guys that if they won the last mega million, they would complain they have to share !

I’m a realist. This is an issue that most people are aware of.

Most young people aren’t looking for half million $ homes for their starter, but that is all that is available in many cities across the country.

I wish I could attach a picture of some of the new homes that are being built on the outer edges of the Phoenix sprawl. Smaller homes, perhaps 1200-1600 sq ft on tiny lots where the backyard is literally 6-8 feet deep (we have walls). Just enough to let your dog run a bit. I have never been in one but you better like your neighbor. Of course they can buy older homes with more property but this is one version of affordable housing (not govt subsidized) that is being built.

Hey you two, tin foil is on sale at Walmart this week!
So what you believe is that if the CDC director did the same thing to Obama’s HHS Secretary, you would be fine with the CDC director withholding important information from the President and his chosen Cabinet member approved by the Senate.

Similar here in the Denver metro. People dream of a home backing up to the mountains, but instead buy a 800k starter home with no yard, and they can reach out and touch their neighbors from their kitchen.
