It's been 7 days......are we any closer to getting a head coach?

Beilien just wanted his son setup so he could take over for him in 2 years. Slime bag move on his part.

AK true mystery. Don't believe everything you read on twitter.

The cries for Beilein was not good. I don't believe it would have been a good fit, but maybe I am wrong. Andy Kennedy.......for several days it appeared he was "the guy".....then he wasn't.

If a coach isn't hired by Sunday, they need to just do the interim tag and get some closure. Mitchell, Kriisa, Touissant........they can still come back, but it doesn't look good for Mitchell as it looks like he has sailed his ship for good (although one source claims that staying at WVU is "still a possibility")

IMO: Interim is what they should of done in first place. Then search for a coach for a coach entire year.

Yes staying is still a possibility but no name soon and they can forget any team. Will be lucky to have 6 guys on the roster.

Interim sounds best, then a real search next spring, or the interim impresses everyone and you name them coach. Belien would have been a temporary coach,, maybe worse than interim, especially if it is a ploy to get his son named coach waiting.

In my experience, administration/management is a set of hours with no real work and no accountability. That’s why everyone wants the boss’s job.

I doubt WVU was remotely prepared for this inevitability. Could take a while

Every AD comes in to the job with a "list" of hires. I doubt Baker wasn't one of these AD's. He's had a list of coaches, but I'd say these coaches know the desperation of WVU to hire and are using it to up their own price and negotiations.

Anything that involves Patrick should be a non-starter. The stuff that went down at Niagara is baggage we don't need, especially in the current situation.

What went down?
Many rumors flying around but I have nothing concrete if it happened or not.

Some say mental breakdown others say sexual misconduct with a cheerleader.

Patrick Beilein: cited personal reasons for abruptly resigning as Niagara University men’s basketball coach two weeks before the start of his first season.

The Niagara Gazette reported in September that Beilein underwent back surgery, citing a tweet by the coach from a chair at the University of Michigan hospital.

"It is with heavy regret that I must inform the entire Purple Eagle nation that effective today I have resigned my position as the head men’s basketball coach at Niagara University. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to become a Division I head basketball coach, but unfortunately, that dream must be put on hold.
"Personal reasons I can no longer take lightly have led me to step away from my dream job. Going forward, I must give singular focus to dealing with these issues, so that I can become the man that I strive to be.
"In time, it is my hope that I can be more open about my ongoing circumstances, but in the meantime, I thank you all for respecting my family’s need for privacy and for all of your continued support."

If JB wants this plan of his, then Patrick needs to step up and explain exactly what happened. No ********.

John can and should sit down next to him as he spells it out. It has to be awful, but there is no way for him to move forward without addressing it. Personally or professionally.
