It's been over a week since the house passed the Better Beer Bill. If you have knowledge, what kind of paperwork timeline does it takeour legislative/executive branches for the bill to officially get to the Governor and this "5-Day Window" has the clock start?

Plus, Nafoom might be a better place to ask. God, I hope this passes. I live in Alabama, and the best thing is the beer here. It's not great, but it's def better than in MS.

Two words for you.. Ying-Ling

To veto the bill, if he doesn't sign the bill still becomes law. Sadly Yuengling is not an ABW problem, instead it's the brewery's distribution that keeps it out of MS. I wish they would expand here, they are the best bang for your buck, great tasting and 10 bucks a 12-pack.

If he simply ignores the bill it will become law 5 days after hitting his desk. In this instance inaction on his part is a win.

and supposedly have plans to be nationwide in a few years. I too think it's an awesome beer that's pretty cheap. It's dark, but not heavy.

Several years Musgrove knew he didn't have the votes for hisveto to hold up and he didn't agree with the appropriation bills. So he just didn't sign them and after 5 days from when he got them they werepassed without his signature..

I just see it as a chicken **** move by the Governor. Gotta keep up appearances instead of actually supporting something that benefits the State.

Not knocking Yeungling, it's a decent cheaper beer. But there's a whole world of beer awesomeness that MS has been missing out on that will make you forget about Yeungling.

The only thing that matters is if he vetoes it. By not signing it, he's supporting it.

from the Pres on down to Govs and Mayors have a window to consider legislation. If they take no action, the bill becomes law when the window shuts. There are other factors but that's a summary of the rules.

I see it is as hoping the issue doesn't really come up so when the next election cycle rolls around he doesn't have to explain to his base why he signed his name to somthing that is evil. Yeah, I'm treading close to having to do a self lock on myself for this thread.

I had it when I was in Mexico City not long ago - I'm glad it's available in my area now. I like the advertisements that I've seen recently in Memphis. "Mexico's 2nd best selling beer!" - makes me laugh for some reason...

I am waiting for the day I can go a 1/2 mile to the grocery store and pick this up instead of having to go into Memphis. If you haven't tried it, you should.

It's taken far too long to get this through, but it's not the only problem. Alcoholic Beverage Control is the only legal venue of import, allowing Mississippi department of revenue to charge too much for smaller breweries to test the market. Ever wonder why most of our seasonals come in a variety pack? Tramp Stamp by Clown Shoes Beer was my summer beer when I lived outside the state, I would love to have one this summer.

which is why it's better than other Mexican beers. Though I still like Dos Equis, which here where I live is the most common draft beer it seems.

but the style is actually known as a Vienna Lager. Yes, Vienna is in Austria but still.<div>
</div><div>You'll usually find that a large portion of Mexican beers, such as Dos Equis Amber and Negra Modelo, are of that style. It's a result of a large number of Austrian immigrants during the late 19th century.</div><div>

And what it is is a pretty good representation of a pre-prohibition lager. This style was the Budweiser of its time. After prohibition ended, those breweries who actually survived eventually devolved the style into the current American Adjunct Lager style that you see today for a number of reasons.

I find that Victoria is the closest to an authentic Vienna lager, as compared to the rest. I like almost all beers. I'm a believer in time and place, there's a time for good beer, and a time for ****** light beer.

It's all about the large beer distributors, and they finally hopped on board with Raise Your Pints and you see what happened..

But I really hope that this bill passes. Bigger picture, it's really a shame that we're this far behind the times. Other states and countries are having a debate over the legalization of weed, and we're still wringing our hands over the legalization of what most of the planet knows as BEER.
