</div><div>If he is ruled ineligible, Auburn is 0-9, no chance of a bowl or anything. Play him all the way through the BCS title game, then go from there. Auburn has nothing to lose. Sitting him is effectively an admission of guilt.</div>

They have a lot to lose if they don't sit him after they know for a fact that he was soliciting money and the NCAA has "recommended" he sit. They will get hammered twice as hard by the NCAA if they continue to play him.

If something that has occurred over the past 48 hours shed new light on the situation, Auburn may need to sit him to mitigate damages. They can pull the "we dont know ****" until the "everyone knows ****" moment happens.

In the midst of all the CN news, you have totally dropped the ball on Dyer, Lemonier, etc. You mentioned that several other schools were turning info in on AU for the recruiting of those players.

Need some updates on those stories.

The big assumption out of this beyond Newton being ineligible is that Auburn paid for him. The NCAA are some vindictive sons of bitches. If they say you need to sit him and you don't then you screw up the National Championship picture and bring the BCS into serious doubt. That would come with some punishment in the inevitable follow-up investigation of Auburn and where the money for the church came from. I would play him as long as I can but once the NCAA says to sit him, they damn well better sit him if they know what is good for them.
