It's funny to me how Gene and David Murray...

but I feel that it has gotten to the point where the color of our head coach's skin has actually become an issue. No one is above accountability, no matter who they are (or how great they think they are). At this point, I honestly can't understand why he still has a job. The only explanation that I can come up with is the color of his skin. We don't have LT, we have Byrne who has balls. He has absolutely zero fan support. Every week he consistently says "screw you" to the fans and honestly believes that he is not making mistakes. He honestly believes that he is doing a good job and that his players are screwing HIM over. Also, as for Croom being a nice guy and a great person, I used to think that way too. I was wrong. The man is a stubborn prick who doesn't care about his players. He only cares about his own fatass. There is no logical, rational explanation to why this man still has a job.

occasionally for a snippet to counter some post about Croom firing. But as far as sacking up with an opinion, nada nothing zilch.

Just wait for our 'impressive' victory over MTSU this weekend. Then they will start running their mouths again, and all will be bright in Starkpatch according to them.

We beat MTSU 14-10 and run up 320 yards of offense. Crxxm spends the next week talking about how well we're executing offensively and how the plan is working.

I really can't see a scenario where he'll be fired this year. Next year maybe, but not this year.

Assuming Croom pulls 2 more out of his gargantuan *** and is not fired, Byrne HAS to make the OC hire. Nobody in their right mind walks into this one-year only shittastic hellhole of a program at Croom's invitation. Byrne will have to go find someone who is willing to come on the likelihood that by game 6 in 09, he'll be the interim with a shot at proving he should get a look at HC.

How else would you get a legit OC?

If Byrne is willing to let Croom go hire the OC, you may as well just can Croom's *** before he has a chance to **** his turkey and dressing.

If I'm making the decisions, I wouldn't let Croom hire a new OC this year unless he and the OC understands it may be for one year only (and that's all the contract I would approve).

Because most coaches think that automatically buys them two more years.

Everybody will know this is looking like a 1-year gig so we'll be pretty limited in who we could hire. I suspect we may have to offer the new OC a 2-year contract.

Also, Byrne/MSU doesn't want to get the reputation of firing and hiring assistants over a head coach's objection. The only solution is to cut all ties with the Croom era.

He said something to the effect that MSU has never had a good offense and there was no reason to think that would change. Posted on the forum, not in an article. I was surprised that he said that. Got blasted by the sheep too. I'm sure Gene slapped him on the wrist. So now he is staying quite.

why we forced Crxxm to fire Woody. But you're right that if we do force him to fire Woody, we can't overrule him on his choice for a replacement. We've got to either let Crxxm pick the new OC, or go ahead and fire Crxxm now.

I am going to have to disagree with you on that. Our offense will not have 320 yards and I ,at this point, have know reason to believe that we will beat MTSU. We barly had 320 yards in our last two games combined.

It's a no win situation for MSU - It will be a PR nightmare whether you fire him now or next year. I personally think the guy sould have the rest of the season (But I don't buy the new OC crap - Croom should have made that call last year), but I also think he should know his employment is based on X number of wins. Hopefully for you, Byrne has had this conversation with Sly.

when Sherrill was coach too. He pretty much blasted him after the Kentucky game in 2003 when he ran Dontae instead of Jerious. That's why I find his silence surprising but this season, he has taken up for Croom in every way imaginable.

and if he gets to 5 wins, no way he gets fired, I think same goes for 4 wins.

Now if he gets blasted in the egg bowl 31-3, which I don't think will happen, and he only wins 4 games, I think there is a chance, but I just don't think it will happen.

At 3 wins, i think its possible, but still not likely. He can use the injuries to Chaney and the Budweiser episode to possibly explain away this season.

I think at the end of the day the OL losses, not just Brown were too much for MSU to overcome. MSU had a solid OL last year, this year not so much.

due to his association with Gene. Ever since joining the Shepherd, his articles have drifted farther and farther toward kool-aid serving. I did a little work in media relations in 2003, and it's safe to say no one in that department liked Gene. He is simply tolerated.

I hope we get blasted by Ole Miss. Never have I ever rooted against us against our biggest rivals but I want to see something similar to what Spurrier did to us in 2001. When Florida romped us what 51-0 in Gainesville? I want to see Saban and Nutt embarrass us as much as possible. Or Maybe we can have a Orgeron scenario where he goes for it on 4th and 1 winning 14-0 and fails to convert which results in an Ole Miss victory.

........we're about to have. It'll be spun as something much bigger than it actually is, probably because we'll have over 300 yards of offense and maybe score 20 or more points.

That's the typical old MSU mentality. It's the same as those who say MSU football has never been a winner so we should never expect it to. It's this kind of defeatist, loser attitude that I despise about the MSU fan base and it's made it very difficult for me to continue being a fan of this program.

do you mean assuming that we will lose anyway? Otherwise I can't go with that. I hope we win every game left on our schedule or at least 4 more.
