I'm starting to think anything short of reeling off 35 straight wins would appease the sixpack. And several have already stated that they will ***** whether we are winning or not. So even that may not do it.

Let's not get crazy and act like our expectations for football and basketball are the same, though.

Our football team has not lived up to expectations. We were ranked preseason, and now are no where near being ranked. We are hoping to finish .500 overall and .250 in the league. That will get us a minor bowl (equivalent of NIT or no postseason). And we will be happy with it. (and I include myself in that)

In basketball, it's Sweet 16 or bust (equivalent of BCS in football).

And coach, although I figured you were just being sarcastic, I did see your "compliments" and was actually surprised. But let's get real. You are locked and loaded for this season with literally hundreds of posts waiting to point out what a complete failure Stans is. It's only a matter of time.

I wasnt concerned with the perimeter defense, but down the lane we got abused for a while and it looked like pure laziness.

Sidney just doesnt have the stamina to keep the pressure on late in the game. I see us using Moultrie and Lewis more than expected if we expect to win close ones.

Hood is the real freaking deal. That kid can create.

I see no benefit on defense to playing Wendell over Sidney. Sure Sid is lazy and will stand flat footed while a guard drives past him. But Wendell gets lost on defense and has a really slow reaction time.

Which we ran to perfection last night. Too bad you didn't see it.

When they went zone, we immediately spread 4 guys out around the perimeter and one under the basket. We then took turns trying to dribble drive between two guys at the top of the key only to get cut off, reset, and do it again. We launched some beautiful contested end of the shot clock shots up too.

Being serious though, some of that is on Bost; in the second half, they were switching defenses each time down the court, Bost has to recognize the zone and call the right play.

Maybe Kodi forgot to pass on the secret art of releasing to the elbow before he graduated (did he graduate?).

hell, we look lost vs zone when we have 5 starters returning- I dont even want to see it with 3 new starters<div>
</div><div>Those are the little things that The Recruiter has to sort out to beat good teams- and why I bang on him so much. We look lost on offense alot- especially against a zone- and that forces us to shoot bad shots or commit more turnovers than we should. You can get away with these things against our weak OOC opponents over the years, or weak SEC West teams- but when it gets to nut-cutting time in March- those things cost you ballgames.</div><div>
</div><div>We'll see what happens this season with a little better schedule and more talent</div>
