It's like Dan doesn't trust his own gimmick offense & that's what is puzzling
You know they weren't going to work, but we ran NO fly sweeps, no pitch option, nothing to get our "speed" guys involved. The 2nd half, we attacked right up the gut where our guys were constantly getting blown up. We've now seen this against LSU twice, Alabama, and Florida. Yes, those defenses were really really good and made our offense look completely inept, but if Dan doesn't have enough faith to run his gimmicky offense, then why are we sticking with that philosophy? We will never be destined to do anything more than run up big stats against the patsy I-AA and CUSA teams and then go 4-4 at best in the SEC. <div>
</div><div>I just find it hard to believe that we keep hearing that our coach is wanting to take the next step and move to the next level when he has no confidence in his players to move the ball against better teams. If we are in Death Valley tonight, totally understandable. But you can't go vanilla and totally gut your playbook on your own home field with the kind of fan support this team has had the past couple of years.</div>
