I hear you. And yes it is cheap to produce, but those programs do not bring in the revenue CFB does and that ESPN needs.

And you have to think CFB would be a ratings bonanza if only a few games end up being played this year.

No hear me out. That's exactly what they want to do. That is why TV became overrun with so much reality crap. It's so much cheaper to produce that it makes more profit than any thing you might air that is decent.
ESPN depends on subscriber fees from cable companies more than ad revenue. The cheap to produce filler is not enough for them to charge the subscriber fees they do. They need big time live sports to do that.

We're also almost 9 times as densely populated

Some of the largest countries in the world by land mass have quite low population densities. For example, Russia has a population density of just 8/km², while Canada is even lower at 4/km². The United States of America has a relatively low population density of 35/km² given that it is the country with the third-highest population in the world.

I know. Context is important.

The United States of America has a relatively low population density of 35/km² given that it is the country with the third-highest population in the world.

It was my no context smart *** response to a no context smart *** "fact". I'd argue that the areas impacted the most by covid have less to do with liberal/conservative leadership and more to do simply with "that's where most of the people live".

Didn't vote for Trump in 2016, so take this for what it's worth. I'm voting for him in 2020 not because I like him but because people like you have thrown a four year hissy fit and acted like absolute children. There's no way I'd ever reward the butt-hurt, temper tantrum the left has thrown since the orange man got elected. So keep it up. You and your like are red-pilling this country.

What did you expect after the 8 year hissy fit the right wing threw during the Obama administration? Both sides need a serious dose of midol and a 55 gal drum of summer's eve.

LOL I just happen to have a couple of friends who have had large chunks of Canada as sales territories. The distance between "calls" up there can be crazy and it requires a lot of air travel where to see the same amount of business in this country can easily be done by car or truck. They are really "spread out" up there ....and that ain't all bad.

The problem lies in politicizing a virus that could not give a 17 what political party you belong to. Then people stupidly listen to politicians and biased news services for advice instead listening to established, reputable medical and scientific institutions. There is basically the problem in a nutshell.

17 ESPN and their woke *** left wing ********. It's not about football anymore or health. It's about orange man bad. And espn is all in on electing a leftist cabal fronting a senile ole man.

Didn’t know ESPN had the power to do that. Thought it was up to Presidents and ADs...who know a TV station had that much power when clearly they have a lot to lose also...man you really need to pull Clay Travis’ dick out of your mouth and ear

Yeah, ok. Disney, a multi-billion dollar corporation, is actively trying to destroy the most highly rated product, live sports, on the channel block with highest total and per subscriber revenue in the country, the ESPN family of networks. Makes total sense.***

So you agree that outside of the Mardi Gras/New Orleans disaster that most of the republican-led states have handled the matter much better than the general nursing home genocide that happened in the democratic northeast? And that those were among the worst handled situations in the world? Glad we are in agreement

Texas says hi.

Texas says hi.

What is Texas saying hi about? They are 26th nationally in deaths per capita and 14th in cases per capita. Their death rate is 1/6 New York and New Jersey, 1/4 Mass and CT, 1/3 of RI and Louisiana and DC, and 1/2 Michigan,Mississippi, Ill, DE, MD, Penn, and AZ. At Texas' current death rate, it'd take them 120 more days to catch New York in total deaths and 200 more days to catch them per capita. And they are still in slight decline and on the verge of the same cliff all the rest of our cases have fallen from.

I guess this is where the attention deflects to now that basically the rest of the Southeast are in clear downward trajectories while Texas still appears to be at a little bit of a plateau though.

The Spanish flu killed 50 million and this Wuhan Flu may kill 1.5 to 2 at best. They still played football in 1918. We are reaching peak pussification.

Most scheduled games that season were cancelled, some conferences cancelled all conference games, and some teams didn't even play.

State (then called Mississippi A&M) played 5 games and 3 of them were against "pick up teams" that were fielded at local military bases in Camp Shelby, Payne Field in West Point, and Park Field in Millington, TN.
They also played Ole Miss twice.

8 year hissy fit? Did the conservatives launch a $40M three-year independent counsel to impeach Obama? Did the house impeach him over something stupid like Ukraine? Did they march the day after his inauguration with pink ***** hats? Give me a freaking break...

They're not in great financial shape in part because they've been idiotic and wanted to jump head first into politics and social issues rather than being a sports network first and foremost. For a large number of their employees and surprisingly even into their executive ranks, when it comes to the choice between making money and focusing on sports, or setting money on fire and doing some social justicing, they've opted for the latter.

ESPN is horrible. They have contributed to race-baiting and the division of our nation....

They fire any conservative that expresses his/her opinion - Curt Schilling, and faun over Jemele Juanita Hill... People are just 17'ing sick of it....

They hound Brady and Tiger Woods, when they express ANY support for the president.

They make any act to disrespect our country and our military fashionable', and attack ANYONE that stands up for the country - Drew Breeze.

Where is the outrage for the pathetic support the NBA has for Communist China to preserve streaming revenue?????

Of course, everyone will remember the rampant looting and fires the tea party rallies left in their wake.

Trump's VP: Won't meet with women alone out of respect for his wife. EVIL.
Obama's VP: Won't stop sniffing and groping women. THE LEADER WE NEED.

And you know, like... Joe Biden is a pandering, habitual coattail rider? Slipping further into senility with every shoulder caress and ear kiss? He completely lacks the mental and testicular fortitude to hold the position?

I love that the Prez is holding China to the fire, and actually addressing real issues regarding Healthcare transparency and pricing (instead of giving more power to Insurance co. and Big Pharma). But the man is without a doubt a crass clown who has a fatal need to be the center of attention, good or bad, at all times. He's like a spoiled only child that never integrated.

He isn't the brightest. And he doesn't have to be, because if politics were actually about intelligence we would see A LOT more doctors, engineers and scientists in office instead of the lawyer/attorney frat house.

But when he says or does something stupid and people rally behind it like it was some sort of intentional 4D chess troll of the libs, it truly is mind blowing -- a celebration of ignorance and spite.
(Example: People will come to his defense bc I said as much and call me a Obama/Hillary loving, socialist libtard and tell me that I'm just a sheep and stupid for not seeing how smart he *really* is but he chooses to hide)

INB4 the whataboutism. I don't care. I know Hillary is terrible and I know Obama was president whether people liked it or not. I don't care. Both of your parties suck absolute rebel dong.

I will never understand that mentality which depraves people to the point that they would gladly cut off their nose to spite "the other side".

Dems and Repubs alike view the other side as unAmerican and as an Enemy. There is no desire to compromise, no desire to problem solve, to grow, there's no desire for unity. It's the saddest time I've experienced as a proud US citizen. I'm 32.

Nobody wants to give any ground. Rather, they double down in their ignorance and anger.

I'm starting to seriously consider that our great nation is beyond salvation. It is very hard to see a way out without unity.

Sorry for the rant.

Well, I hope you live in a state where your vote will actually matter. I mean, if we can have a few more boat parades for Trump, he just might get lucky and pull off a big win in Mississippi.***

Back to the original point - haven't kept up today, but I think I heard that the B1G did indeed cancel fall sports, including football. Is that correct?
