but I like the idea of ESPN SEC. Being announced now.

So now you have ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 (online), ESPNU, ESPNEWS, and now ESPN SEC.

Smart move to utilize the ESPN name.

Overaall, 1000 sporting events.
45 football games (3 every week, no more syndicated JP/Lincoln)
100 men's basketball
60 women's basketball
75 baseball
original content (an SEC Sportscenter, SEC Stories, etc.)

Took what the Big Ten did and SEC'd it.

As long as it's not introduced like the Longhorn Network, I love this idea.. There are several of my Texas friends who have trouble finding their games on TV because of the LHN.

I'm just waiting for the $$$ announcement. We all know that it's going to be a good bit more than the previous contract, but I have a suspicion that we're all going to be floored when it's announced

Being a Directv subscriber will CSS no longer carry any SEC sports once ESPN SEC is on the air?

That is correct. Everything SEC will be on either CBS, one of the ESPN networks, or the SEC Network. No more syndication. No more CSS. No more Fox.

Will CBS still have exclusive rights to the afternoon slot? There never would be a game that would be on the same time in the afternoon.

Pretty sure that won't change. Which really sucks. Even more now that the SEC has expanded to 14. There's only so many games you can play at night, so it's pushing more games to the 11:00 time slot.

What's the odds that Finebaum is jockeying for a position with ESPN SEC. Since he hasn't returned to the radio after his 90 days was up I figure he is trying to work a deal with XM or ESPN. He appears pretty often on Outside the Lines when there is an SEC topic.

Per the story in the Clarion Ledger, I was wrong. SBC will still have the 2:30 time slot but will NOT have it exclusively any more. That is very good news.

Will be nice to see old MSU wins. One can only watch 2004 Florida so many times

Seems like the only other old MSU replays (instant classics, college flash classics, etc) are all losses--1997 OM and 2000 USC come to mind.

I know the Big10 Network replays games from before the network started, so I suspect (hope) that ESPN SEC will, too.

Wonder if Coaches shows will move here.

I know it's a perk in contracts but can see it as an easy way to get 7 hours of weekly content.

Can't wait to see how Cable One packages this so each "new" channel for SEC sports is put into a separate bundle (each bundle with it's own group of 25 shopping channels.)

My question is will there be any SEC games on ABC? Or is it just exclusively the ESPN networks?
