This is beyond stupid! We might as well throw out our history. I'm sure they will take the whole Civil War out our history books. Kids won't be allowed to learn about it, they will just wipe it from history.
The civil war will eventually become just a backyard skirmish between two rival gangs. Not much to report about.

I guess I'm dying on this hill alone, that's fine.

That fact is there absolutely would have been an articles on Deadspin, Barstool, etc. talking about how Robert Lee was announcing a game in Charlottesville had he stayed on the assignment. Not because people were offended, but because that's a pretty big coincidence. Everything was done in house until someone leaked the change and then Clay Travis got to create his own narrative.

I think you're on the wrong message boards. Reason doesn't reside here. Our fellow posters love to feel outraged about everything. You know, just like the very people they're condemning for doing the very same thing.

It is obvious you leave your brain a jar before posting on here.

It is a good thing Tom Jackson retired from doing NFL games before someone tipped off ESPN about what Stonewall's real first name was...

so ironic that espn is so concerned with southern ideals. you'd think they'd have had something to say about the carolina way and robbing mostly young black athletes of an education. [jumpingsmile]

While it is stupid in terms of how far PC we've become, I get the move. Why even risk stirring up unnecessary distractions and drawing political/racial attention to what is supposed to be one of the most enjoyable weekends of the year. There are 900 other games they can switch the guy too. The ironic thing is, I'm pretty sure the announcer is of Asian descent.

Pretty sure I have seen you before but this solidifies that you're a part of the problem.

What if your name was Timothy McVeigh? Should you be passed over on promotions. Can you not do your job? you're a massive part of the problem I n this country. Great job. Now back to your regularly scheduled antifa rally.

There should be two sides to this debate - ESPN vs everyone else.

Arguably the dumbest PR decision from a US corporation this year/decade/millennium

Actually the Camping World CEO saying anyone who supports Trump can spend their money somewhere else is pretty dumb considering they sponsor a NASCAR series that is made up of southern, redneck racing fans.

OH there are a lot more people who like NASCAR that don't match that description.

Democrats are fighting hard to erase their racist history.

George Washington owned a large number of slaves. I wonder when all of his statues are coming down, or when places will start changing their names? Our country is going down the drain

So what about Ben Affquack or Anderson Pooper? Both have huge blood line ties to slave owners. If an Asian guy with the last name Lee is a removable offense, then what about these situations?

What are the rules exactly?

Listen to the talking heads as to why NASCAR attendance has declined and one of the main points is that they got away from their southern roots and started racing in California, Arizona, Las Vegas and dropped tracks in the south.

You slid your 'Donner' joke in too clean, unless your name really is Donner. In which case: Are you that cannibal dude? "Table for the Donner Party...And make it damn fast. They say they're starving!"

Not a Donner.

It gets laughs. One guy yelled out these people won't need menus.

You obviously like it because you keep reading and posting in it. What an idiot. Sorry I didn't mean to offend idiots with that comparison.

You're a crybaby. It was a dumb thread that you KNEW would lead to politics arguments and you posted it anyway. Get lost.

Honest question: why does everyone, left and right, get triggered if there's a thread on here that may be political and immediately say take it to the politic thread?!

Every topic will be different, even in political nature.

Do we need a different thread for every naughty teacher that comes up? Or can they go in the same thread?

I get if it's on the basketball or football board, but this one?!

All I know is that this thread got thrown in the trash, like I said it would. Politics is suffocating because both sides are scum and people act like only one side is scum. It makes them look really stupid.

Go back over to the Basketball board and read about Kyrie Irving and the eclipse since those are UK basketball related topics and stay out of my garbage post. It's quite hilarious you keep coming back to it like a U of L recruit to a strip joint.

I never have understood why someone can't just skip over a thread if it upsets that person. [laughing][eyeroll]
