I don't think the expected preferential treatment. I don't think the players knew what to expect. Croom was probably using 1970's Alabama conditioning techniques.

I don't understand that comment by that guy. Yes, they are hard on people, but it's to make soliders mentally tougher so that they don't puss out and allow us to be taken over by Somolia.

I'm sorry, I just have a problem with that comment by that guy.

old coach never got in their faces and yelled at them. I am pretty sure the new one does. However, I don't know if our old assistants did that. I can't see someone quitting over someone yelling in their face.

My guess is that they quit because it is different. Sometimes it doesn't matter if it is better or worse. They just don't like it being different.

That makes 5 transfers after a whole new regime took over. that's a relatively low number in my opinion. It just hurts because it is another WR where we need the most help

why would someone go thru spring practice then a tough summer workout program and with a week left quit?
Obviously, our incoming wideouts must be showing out some and must be tougher!

Two wideouts gone before summer drills begin, meaning they're leaving without having competed to find out if they'll start or not.

Two wideouts leaving months before a new offense reliant on WRs is debuted.

Two wideouts leaving a pretty thin corps to begin with.

If you are a WR and you quit after playing in the pile of Walrus Dung that was our offense and before you get to play in a WR reliant offense...you are a pu**y.

still in a little bit of culture shock. As I've said before, I don't think you could have gone any more 180 degrees different on the intensity meter than to replace Croom with Mullen or to replace Polk with Cohen. Neither Mullen nor Cohen have a bit of problem getting in someone's face or chewing some tail when needed. Croom and Polk, well, they were nice gentlemen who would like to win but weren't going to get all huffy about losing. Neither Mullen nor Cohen are going to accept losing in any form if they can help it. The players who were already there when these 2 coaches came in are now in a strange, new world.

and when you do this, some people are going to decide it is not for them. Those people need to go somewhere else and finish, freeing up scholly's for people that do want to be part of it.

remember that as bad as our WR's were last year, Croom barely played Delmon Robinson. Also, Croom, the guy who loved to burn redshirts, redshirted Terrance Davis. That ought to tell you something. If these guys were juniors or seniors with lots of game experience, I would be more concerned. But I'm just as fine with Bumphis, Heavens, and Ricco Sanders taking the field.

How does this affect TR's first start date?

Unless he picks up 20 pounds and learns 2/3's of the playbook I don't think he gets a look any earlier than October, if at all.

that Croom was physically capable of getting in a players face if he was down in position. Now, baseball players-- you get to scream at them in full upright position.
