Wilson Memorial, Spotswood and James Monroe OOD for the next two years.
There are a lot of opportunities with your schedule to accumulate points and make the playoffs. You just need to win about 5 or six games and you should play and extra game or two.
If Coach Woody has the players to play a faster pace, aggressive, option type of offense, you will surprise a few teams.
I’m my opinion: The key is confidence. When the players are confident in their training and preparation, they play more aggressively. And acting aggressively naturally means faster play. That shifts an advantage even more to the offense. Especially at the high school level. The offense already knows where the play is going, the defense has to read and react. A faster scheme leaves less time to respond accurately.
And when your defense is used to practicing against an offense like this, it develops their confidence and improves their aggression and speed. The bottom line, speed kills. At the high school level, it provides a decided advantage. Act quick, react quick, and let the opponent be thinking while you are taking action. But again, it all is anchored in confidence gained from your preparation.
Hummmm……, come to think of it, isn’t this part of the key to being successful in life?
