One of the most frustrating things about this disaster is we still don't have a cohesive plan. From a local to global view, it feels like nobody knows when life is going to get back to normal and has no idea what needs to be accomplished to get there safely.
So we have the Easter to Labor Day fight all the time. While I don't think you can set a timeline, you can set benchmarks of once X is achieved, we can allow Y to happen. It can happen geographically.. It's a fundamental function of leadership... The leaders set the strategy and the troops execute.
I am not blaming anyone to this point. I hate to repeat worn out cliche's, but we have been punched in the mouth. Now it's time to get up of the mat and put a plan in place to finish the fight.
The following link is a plan created by 2 former FDA commissioners and an epidimiologist from Johns Hopkins. It is based in science and seems both reasonable and achievable.
It seems like if followed, many places could be off of lockdown by the end of April and we could all go grab a beer and a hotdog at the ballpark by the 4th.
If we all keep running around listening to county judges, city councils, mayors, governors, representatives, senators, presidents, and media outlets that all have different agendas and many with highly questionable ethics and intelligence, we are going to drag this out much longer and sacrifice many more lives than necessary.
Read the plan... You have nothing else to do. See if it makes sense. If there is a better one, please share it. But I am sick of waiting on some direction on the endgame.
