Given #1: We are at best going to be #7 in the SEC. Bama, Aub, LSU, Ark, UF, USC.
Given #2: While I don't want Bama in the BCSCG, their presence in that game bumps everyone else up a notch.
Given #3: A 7-5 MSU team is not likely to be chosen in the #7 slot over at 7-5 or 6-6 UGA, UT, or UK team.

But our problem is going to be Kentucky. They are going to have another 6-6, 7-5 year, and are probably going to end up with a shot at the Music City Bowl again. If we beat them and go 6-6 or 7-5, we may still get hosed and end up in Memphis again.

Bama, Florida, LSU, SC, Auburn, and Arkansas will all have better records than us guaranteed, with the possible exception of SC. That leaves everything until probably the Chic Fil A Bowl taken.

Now at that point, say you have a Georgia team at 6-6 or 7-5. You think we get in ahead of them in the Chik Fil A bowl?I would doubt it.Then lets say you have a 6-6, 7-5 Kentucky team. You think we would go Music City ahead of them? Again, I doubt it. We could beat both of these teams, have the same or better record than them, and end up in a worse bowl.

Rather play a mid-level Big East school like Connecticut (or even Notre Dame, who figures in the Big East pool for bowls) than a CUSA team.
