It's way too early, but who do we think will be the closer?

I know time will tell, but Bauer obviously has the stuff... It looks like when he's on, he's unhittable as @Bulldog Bruce said last night. But if he's not on, you can see he's got to mature a little.

Ben Davis is who I expected it to be coming into the season. He looks good, but we may need him to be more of a long relief/middle inning stretch guy.

Webb looked good in both outings. I was thinking Pitzer may be a factor, but have we seen him yet? I might have missed him.

Oh and Diablo Sandwich/Jack Gleason has to be on the list. Two great outings thus far.

Who am I forgetting?

If Bauer can throw strikes, he's the closer. I'm wondering if he's going to be a 1-inning guy or he's just a wildly inconsistent guy right now. Maybe a little of both.

Good question. It's hard to say right now because it looks like our pitching has a fair bit of figuring out to do at this point. All I can say is it might not be the same person at the end of the season as the one when we begin SEC play.

Feels like Ben Davis will get first crack. I’m disappointed we have not seen Pitzker yet
I heard someone say he wanted to start. Wonder if he's getting the nod tonight? I haven't seen anything on that yet.

I read Robbie's piece on Pitzer above. Dude went up to the Cape and was the Pitcher of the Year up there.

How 17'n nice would it be if he comes in here and shows out this season.

Pitzer has the best stuff of the groups, sans Bauer but Bauer isn't a viable option until he can throw strikes consistently. He's just not there yet. Once he does and he finds a third pitch, look out. The stuff is nasty and that slider is a wipe out pitch. No chance of hitting it. Best slider I've seen since at State since Lindgren.
