I think Butler has too much of the NFL mindset. They view corners as valuable as pass rushers over there. And stopping the rush is second to the pass.

I think it can work. But you have to tackle like we did in 2023, we can't. And you have to have some monster run stuffers on the DL, we don't.
Expecting a safety or undersized LB to basically play on the d line makes no sense against Iowa. We should have gone big the whole game against Iowa.
Is there any fan of Nebraska who realistically thought we could be a playoff team with what we had for a defensive line. You can’t play big boy football without big boys.

Lateef was not good today. Fans need to quit idolizing totally OVERRATED kids like RVP, Jacori and the Aussie punter. Judge them on performance, not so-called reputation.
You can't have DR or Lateef in an offense that is 5-6-7 yard dink passes and no threat at 15 yards or longer in the air. 8-10-12 play drives against good teams is never gonna work. This isn't the BIG 12.
Anyone who thinks Rhule is EVER gonna elevate this program to contend for the BIG needs a reality check. 5-7, 7-6 now 7-5. Whoopee!! You can't come down the stretch every year getting your a*s beat when we aren't even playing the 3 best teams in the league. The gap is huge and getting bigger for NU.
I think RVP can be a very good player but he can’t take on double teams like Nash or Ty. Crick wasn’t nearly as effective after Suh graduated.

The targeting play never should have happened. On the play before, Iowa punted from near midfield, where a touchback is considered a win for the returning team. Barney got tackled at the 12, but Iowa had an illegal shift so Nebraska could have added the penalty and taken the ball at the 17. Not quite a touchback, but nearly as good.
Instead, our genius head coach backs Iowa up 5 yards (which actually helps them) and demands a re-kick. One play certainly doesn’t determine the outcome of a game, but everything that happened after that was a total s*** show.
