I've been watching the player interviews....

...and I feel good about the defense. It's not one particular thing any of them are saying, but it's more about their body language and their attitude. They just seem...quietly confident to me. That's the best way I know to describe it. I hope I'm not reading into this something I want to be there. Time will tell.

I've been saying all offseason that were going to be a lot better defensively than most people expect.

It shouldn't be too hard to be better than the product put on the field last year, so I expected us to be better, too. I never expected that we could be a LOT better, though. However, as we get closer to the opening game the wool is starting to sprout!

Honestly, all we have to be is average to get better than last year. Wilson took the talent we had and underachieved. We may not have had the man-power against the big boys, but still, I've never seen SO many players out of position in my life. And I lived thru Ron Cooper.

Past years, my wool has been THICK! However this year I just have no confidence that we will do well this year. I believe losing 5 of our last 6 games, one of those being to the rebs, and another in the bowl game has just deflated my enthusiasm until the team proves different. I REALLY hope they do!

can cover, I'm believig that this defense makes major strides from last year. Right now, think Collins will have the biggest.

Plus, what you see this year will only be better next year. Only losses are Nickoe, Skinner & Autry.
