would have retired last year after our college world series run. Am I the only one that's glad that he didn't? I mean yeah this year is ****, but I believe it was going to be **** regardless if the "coaching wonder" returned or not. I mean think about it. If Polk would have retired last year after our CWS run, guess who would have made the hire for his replacement and guess who the hell one nut (thanks saddawg didn't know about that) would have picked. That's right Raffo would be leading this disaster this year. So I would like to personally thank Mr. Ron Polk for coming back for another year and making an *** out of himself, so that our new AD can make a quality hire and not the easy way out like Templeton would have done. So in the long run Ron, you have actually helped MSU baseball. Ron, you might want to send Raffo 2 christmas cards this year to try to make up for not retiring last year, when you could have appointed your successor, and making an *** out of our baseball team this year, further hindering any chance Raffo had for the head job. GL in retirement Ron and thanks again from the Bulldog Nation for waiting one more year.

I feel the exact same way. Polk staying probably will help us in the long run. If Raffo was the coach and this crap was going on, we would have to give him at least three seasons before we ran him off. How bad would our program be after two more years of this? And after three seasons like this, our coaching position wouldn't be so attractive.

The only upside would be that we wouldn't have to deal with Polk's antics, but the good news is we only have four more SEC series and three non-conference games of this crap.

Raffo may not know this, but this is actually probably good for him as well. He's just not qualified to be the HC at MSU, at least not right now, and if he took the job and failed, he would have a hard time finding another job in baseball. Now he has the opportunity to actually go out and be a HC at somewhere like East Tennessee State, learn on the job without pressure, and hopefully for him become a good baseball coach. He probably doesn't see it, but this is really a hidden blessing for him. We really do need to give the job to someone who has worked hard and has earned it like Cohen.

I think McNickle will be appearing at a JUCO near you.

Edited to say the other good thing about Polk failing is that it eliminates the possibility of sheep clamoring for him to come back and repair the program, which happened after 01. There is now no doubt that he can't do the job.

i wished polk stayed 5 more years

</p> that would make you an idiot. His return has been a failure. We will have finished 9th or lower in 3 of the last 5 years in the SEC. Thats a damn disgrace. Not to mention a losing season this year. A losing season at Miss St in baseball...wow
