I've taken the last 30 minutes to read the accusations being leveled at PSU...

..it's pretty disgusting stuff. Unfathomable, really. If even half of the incidents are true and even half the people who supposed knew actually did........ well, I don't know other than to say more people should go to jail than just Sandusky.

If that were you, would you tell your employer? No. You would go straight to the authorities. This is a disgusting crime and JoePa knew better than that. There is no way talking himself around this, he screwed the pooch and allowed his greed to overtake his moral obligation.

This stuff makes the Cecil/Cam/Auburn thing look like a joke as far as cover ups go. There is no way this doesn't get even more twisted...if that is possible.</p>

would you let the SOB back into the building?

Paterno is in my opinion in this thing heavily. The only thing saving him (for now) is who he is, and apparently that is faling apart.

Paterno is god there. The President couldn't get access to PSU football if "JoePa" didn't want him to have it. .....And he had no problem with Sandusky hanging around for a decade after the incidents were first brought to his attention? Damn, man...

Call it hateful, but anyone who abuses a child...they should suffer an immediate death. I would scalp a son of a *****, Richard Harrow style if they ever 17ed with my kids.

Penn State should not be allowed to have athletics for a while. If a school can get the death penalty for coaching paying players they should be able to receive it when coaches sit back and do nothing when little boys are being raped in the locker room shower. I might get crucified for saying I don't care.

witness a young boy being raped and not right then and there say " what the 17 are you doing man?". If you witness a serious crime being committed it is now your responsibility to stop it. Mike McQueary should have immediately stopped the incident, got the boy away from Sandusky, then called the police immediately and the whole time held back the urge to beat the **** out of Sandusky. He didn't. He acted like a scared ***** which seemed to be everyone else's same attitude towards Sandusky including Joe Paterno, the athletic director, the campus police chief and who knows how many others. No way anyone on that staff survives this. Penn State football might not survive this. This will forever tarnish Joe Paterno and the Penn State University and it all could have been avoided 13 years ago.

Until I saw this thread, I was just pushing it aside as something serious, but much smaller.

That article needs to be broadcasted at all levels. When things like this occur, everyone is guilty. So many things could have been done to prevent this.

this is way bigger than spending a few bucks to gain anadvantage.....it`s about ruining young boys` lives forever. The whole 17ing group needs to go to jail and the NCAA needs to shut that mofo down.

I mean to be so close to having the wins that Joe Paterno had and then get fired or forced to retire and then see all of this stuff come out and put a big stain on Joe Paterno has to suck really bad. I already preferred Bowden over Paterno because I thought he was just as successful with a little harder road.

Absolutely disgusting.<div>
</div><div>Initially, I thought Paterno had done all he could do by telling the Pres. and VP. After reading the 23 pages, I don't think that was enough. His moral compass should have pointed him directly to the police (this goes for the GA, VP, President, and janitors as well). It appears to me that at least a few people were aware of a clear pattern of deviant behavior by Sandusky and did not do enough to put an end to it.</div>

You're absolutely right, and I couldn't agree with you more. I love so much about college football and athletics as a whole, but **** like this just utterly disturbs me that people will place a 17n sport over thelivelihoodand future of children being tormented by one of their own. Even when I say this, I'm absolutely convinced that the NCAA will do not a damn thing about this and it will make them look just as sick as those at Penn State for turning the other way. They'll probably make an excuse as to saying it's either an internal matter that needs to be handled by Penn State or because Sandusky is no longer a coach, there's nothing they could realistically do.<div>
</div><div>If the NCAA gives any kind of statement like the previous ones I made, that will make me absolutely disgusted with them.</div>

I would be damn sure the police did something. Yeah, they told the cops, but when nothing happened, you tell someone higher. Hell, go to the news with it. Even if it ruins a possible investigation, you immediately keep it from happening to other kids. And then I would make the guy's life a living hell.

I read the 23 page grand jury report and that article is a summation of what it contains. One thing that really got to me was the last line in the report: "Victim 8's identity is unknown." (that's the boy that the janitor who fought in the Korean War and saw men blown apart saw being assaulted by Sandusky and said "I just witnessed something in there I'll never forget.").

He should be gone by now if all he did was inform the AD when he found out about the child rape allegation. This is the same man who attacked Sherrill's integrity (I think they've since made up) but he's apparently the one who helped conceal a felony that kept a serial child abuser and rapist from being prosecuted by not reporting it to the police. %*! his legacy. A man of integrity would have already resigned.

This is disgusting. Their football program should be shut down for a minimum of 5 years. There is no place for this in sports. Every single person named in that 23 page report, Including 17ing JoePa, should be imprisoned for life for any involvement that did not result in arrests. These mother17ers have a special place in hell.

Having people of trust sticking their pee pees into 10 year old boys. Having a Head Coach and administration sweep this under the rug and not do anything to put that pedophile predator behind bars. It's having a Coach and a program claim to be squeaky clean and do everything with "class", that made a huge point of wanting to stay in college football so it wouldn't be taken over by the Jackie Sherrill's and Barry Switzer's of the world, allowing such a monster free access to your facility for years.<div>
</div><div>Penn State needs to shut down its program for the rest of the season, all next year, and begin again in 2013, just to fumigate that whole athletic department. Anyone even halfway associated with this mess should be fired and not given a pension. All football players should be immediately released from their scholarships, and allowed to transfer without penalty. </div><div>

Isn't this much like ths Catholic Church knowing about the pedophile priestsand all. Joe Pa must be the Pope. Not trying to turn this into a religious thread.Sincerely, I mean no offense to Catholics.

Let it be crystal ****ing clear:

A Penn State graduate assistant walked into the offices late at night to get some tapes, noticed the showers were going and lights were on, and heard "slapping" sounds, like that of people having sex. He sees Sandusky pumping some little boys ***. He's so shocked, what does he do? He goes home, takes his time, calls his dad and asks what to do, his dad says tell JoePa. What would he have done if he caught Sandusky stabbing the kid repeatedly??

The GA and JoePa both need to serve time for failure to report. You see something like that, you call the ****ing cops, anything else leads to it being swept under the rug, and God knows how many more children were molested because of their precious "keep it in the house" mentality.

mother17er like a pig. Just reading that **** makes my blood boil. Before I had kids I wouldn't pay much attention to headlines like this. Now it hits home.

Are future players/coaches really going to continue using that shower? I wouldn't go within 100 ft of it knowing that some poor kid's life was ruined in there. They need to tear the whole 17n building down and start over.

Someone needs to start a petition or protest or something at the NCAA to get that 17n program shut down for good. Talk about a lack of institutional control. Is what SMU did worse than this? Can one of those slimy *** greaseball lawyers at the NCAA say that it was with a straight face? They need to be shut down to send a message that collegiate athletics will not be used in any shape form or fashion to harm children. If that happened at State I would be first in line to see that mother17er shut down too. There are some things bigger than sports and our 17n children are one of them.

17 Joe Paterno and his 17n long career and his 17n legacy.
17 Penn State
and
17 the NCAA if they are too big a bunch of PUSSIES to do anything with this.

Dammit I'm gonna have to take some blood pressure medicine.

..or at a minimum rip out the showers and turn the building into something other than a locker room. I mean, you just can't have something like that on your campus as a landmark for people to talk about.

It's like floating down the Chattooga and everybody continually asking the raft guide where the scene in Deliverance was filmed.
