To realize is that we aren't going to go from a perinnial 4 win a season team to an annual contender. First we have to get to a 7 win per season team. THEN we take the next step. Dan can get us to7-8 per year. He may be able to take the next step, he may not. We just have to get there first and then be smart.
I don't really see anything wrong with what they said. Yea...this board has it's share of dumbasses, but if it really bothers you that much... just leave the board for a while. This is not going to change any time soon.
want to read what you want to hear. Just like Gene's Page. I read and responded.Fact remains that we have been IN every game this year, and we are quite obviously down from last year. If we win one or both of the last two we will be in a bowl. It won't be what we all wanted but a bowl in a down year is PROGRESS from where we have been as a program. That hasn't happened since 2000. Building programs is ALWAYS an up and down business. The trick is raising the level of BOTH up and down, over time. We have always hada quick trigger with coaches, it's really worked well don't you think?
Looks to me like that is you boys defending your whining. I've been reading it for years and listing to it forlonger than that(WAY before the net). Itis whatMSU fans have ALWAYS done. You boys seem to think you are something new, you aren't. YouDO have a point at ttimes. This time you are WAY off base. Wait to the end of the year. If we bowl then it's dissapointing, and THAT is a BIG step foward. If we don't then ***** away.
We make back to back bowls and this is a success for Dan and the program. Nobody wants to lose any games but if Dan keeps us going to bowls the recruiting will get better and so will the results.
is proof enough to me that you're being extremely defensive. I dare you to find a post where I've bitched about Mullen. The only thing I'm saying is that all the bitching is nothing new. It's going to happen and bitching about all the bitching ain't gonna accomplish ****. Call it defending the complaining if you want. Honestly, I just don't see a point in it.
So you are asking a discussion forum to not discuss and instead wait until the end of the season. I'll pass this grand idea on to DS. We should shut the board down during the season. Awesome. I'll be much more productive this way. Thank you for your insight.
But be careful or you'll get bashed over "moral victories". But you are spot on. Dan's got us close to taking the next step. If he learns from his mistakes and keeps working hard, he will get us there.
All I care about is that we be competitive and win games. It's apparent to me that we're becoming more competitive with the talent we currently have and that's all I can ask for. I'm not going to tell everybody that they need to say nothing but positive **** because that's unreasonable since everyone has their own opinions. This is a 17n public forum for Christ'ssake. You can't think this is only something that goes on at MSU can you? You can't really be that dumb. Message boards of some of the best damn teams in the country have people bitching on them after a loss. Ever heard of the site that reposts all of the weekly meltdown posts from around the country? Yeah, Bama fans were featured on it last week. That's right. The same Bama that is one of the best football programs of all time and that we lost to tonight.
Rather than starting threads telling everyone to calm down and to not bash the coach, why don't you respond to those threads that are doing the things you don't like and use an argument, game stats, year over year stats showing how we are better with Dan as the coach than we have been in the past, etc? Or you could just ignore the crazy posts like most of the other rational people on the board and respond in the topics that match better with your own thoughts.

Me telling you to leave if you don't like the board because people post whatever they want is the exact opposite of how Gene handles things. This is why I said it wasn't necessary to ban you.
