The anti-Riley crowd should be happy. These are the kinds of recruits that they claimed he was going to consistently sign (just going off rankings). I hope the kid has a great career wherever he chooses to go.

Barney Cotton was lead recruiter on him. Maybe as a "lifelong Husker fan" he didn't feel a connection with the current staff since none of them were previously linked to the program.

If he ends up at Arizona St its not a hard decision to make...they offer off the field options that Lincoln can never match

If the "off the field" options are an important criteria in his decision it is probably best he moved on.

I think Bubak was similar to Reuben Jones where he just wasn't feeling the new staff, he never struck me as a kid who would make a decision based on "off the field" options, but maybe I am wrong.

At neb you have to sell the absense of distractions that have the potential of interfering with your 2 primary goals. Becoming the best football player you can be to optimize your shot at the NFL and getting an education.

There is enough off the field everywhere; gluttony is very distracting. I am not sure he likes the competition thats coming in here; I am serious. Doesn't mean he isn't a great person - there is a lot more to this story somewhere.

There is an article out elsewhere now; he is an ASU guy, he explains it well . Still high character; we have our talent - all will do well.

Wish the young man well. If he doesn't make it back to UNL then so be it. Want players that want to be there. If the heart isn't in it then best he finds a place that will for him.

UNL needs guys that are all in for UNL. No more no less just like every other school wants and expects.

Sad. ASU may be a good school (with fine scenery) and a good football team, but their head coach makes my skin crawl. A Bobby Petrino wannabe. I hope he knows what he's getting into.

When fall rolls around and the whole town is red on a football Saturday, I wonder if he'll have second thoughts? And if he does, will there be a spot available? With one TE already in this class, the answer may be no.

Bubak didn't seem to gel with the new staff. Who knows what the reason for that is. Just amazing to read across boards the crap said about the kid.

We need 2 TEs this class and I bet Riley fills that spot sometime this fall. Bubak is probably gone for good and that is ok.

I don't think that Bubak felt comfortable with Riley's system. TE's in his system put their hand in the dirt and block inside as well as be a part of the play action passing game. Bubak feels he is more of a flex type of TE that can be split out as part of a spread type system.

There are hundreds or thousands of pretty girls at every major university in the United States, the difference between the best school in this regard and an average school is pretty marginal. If you're on the football team at one of these schools there are going to be a lot beautiful young women interested in engaging in the conjugal act with you. I don't buy the "he's going to ASU for the girls thing." I think it probably just wasn't a great fit. The only reason this could be construed as a bummer is that he was from Licoln, good luck to him with the Sun Devils.

Bubak will find much less pressure at ASU than NU. Pro sports dominates the Phoenix area. ASU is in the midst of a stadium renovation that continues a recent years trend of removing thousands of seats in the hopes the joint won't always look half empty. The stadium use to seat about 72,000 and has been steadily reduced to what will be 57,000 after the latest changes.

LOL kid wanted to play in Tim Beck's system as a TE, but not Riley/Langsdorf's.....ASU is selling him that he will be a WR, sorry Jared, but you'll never find your way onto they field that way.

I think the last time that NU relied much on the tight end in the passing game was under Solich. Riley can't hurt the position.

This is correct. He said blocking is not his thing. Thats fine but unless you are incredibly special, it wont be good prep for the NFL. This news doesnt bother me a bit.

Did he say that? Or did someone say that he doesn't have to block at Lincoln Christian since he doesn't play TE there?

TE is not a position that worries me all that much. Unless his name is Gronk, Jimmy, or Gatesy...

There's also the fact that Arizona State is a lot better at football right now than Nebraska is.

Last 5 years ASU 42-25 Neb 47-20
Last 3 years ASU 28-12 Neb 28-12

speaks volumes about the value of an degree from Iowa

oh, in addition, you are 1-3 against the head football coach of youngstown state

Iowa fan talking trash about football on a Husker message board; that's funny. That's like Husker fan going on to Iowa message board to talk trash about, um, hmmmm, let me see, oh yeah, rassling! That is how you pronounce it, isn't it?

I think you'd have to agree that it's been a very competitive series where most games could have gone either way so far. Saying that Iowa sucks is pretty much an indictment of your own program as well.
Yes, we dominate in wrestling. Our duals could not have gone either way. There is a difference.

The difference is nobody cares about cares about college wrestling and Nebarska fired their coach because we barely beat io_a.

Ya we weren't real good. That's probably why our coach got fired. When does Ferentz get an extension?

You would probably care more about wrestling if you didn't suck so bad at it. We care. Winning 23 national championships since 1975 will do that. Winning the most consecutive national championships in the history of college sport makes you care a little more too. Winning the conference title 33 times makes you appreciate what your athletes do. Never mind, I'm sure you guys can't relate. Sorry
