I know everyone is excited about our new basketball team and all that but someone I know works at UMC and he told me that all of the J-State fans and alumnus are really excited about coming to "vegas" and watching two MS teams go at it...now when I asked him if they thought they would win he said absolutely not but he said that a lot of them are going to make the trip for the game. Should be a pretty wild weekend in Starkville

I'm excited too. Great move by Byrne to pick up JSU. It's a game we should win, it didn't cost us much (about 300K I think), and JSU will bring 10-15k people. I'm sure this will be the largest crowd to ever see a non-conference game at Scott Field.

JSU fans travel very well. Call BS if you'd like but, I'd say it'll be close to a record crowd for the 1st game.

an LSU/Tulane game kind of. It is definitely a game we should win and I'm sure it will be awesome for the players to have such a large crowd for the opening game. Should be a great atmosphere...

ETS: It could be a great day with a lot of fans or it could be the death knell for my fall. I'll leave it at that.

They travel well. It's probably going to be record attendance. I think it's going to be a good weekend.

Mississippi State Football and smack talk are 2 things that do not go well together. Just curious to see how many fans they are expecting to bring.

A certain amount of **** talking on the Butler boards in 2003 comes to mind.

that alone is reason enough to schedule this game.
If you're going to see the band, then be in the stadium before the Boom arrives.

That's all I'm going to say about that.

or if they do, they should opt to play the first halftime show and let the Sonic Boom (arguably the best "show" marching band) close it out.

It will be a lot like when we played Jacksonville State (arguably the best "musical" marching band) took the field before our band. It was unreal how much better they were.

It's about time ya'll played them! Ya'll should put about 50-60 points on 'em. If not, I'd be really worried about the rest of the season.

The halftime show is worth the price of admission alone. The Sonic Boom made USM's band look really boring both times we've played them. Good PR for the school too. You'll NEVER see Ole Miss playing them, for the obvious, sad reasons that everyone can quickly guess! Enjoy! You'll want to play them again.

Oh snap! The centipede! I can not wait to see the centipede and the simulated sexual intercourse with drums and other instruments. They are such an awesome band.

I hope it's not another Maine debacle! We would never hear the end of it from our Ole Miss brethren !

I am not a marching band expert, but they sound just like any other band but just do a lot of dancing.
