22.5% from 3 last year though.
If he just hit 8 more threes over the course of his 26 game season, he would have averaged 33% from three. He doesn't take a lot of threes. He hit 47% of his 2 point baskets and he has an 47.1% True shooting percentage which takes into account his averages from 2, 3 and free throws.

I've seen you post this hilarious "if he just ..." sentence like 5 times now. What if "he just missed 8 more ..." what would it be then?

Wheeler isn’t going anywhere to be a backup, and if all things work out as they should, he would be the backup to TyTy. I’d roll the dice and bet on Washington and Mintz.

Wheeler and Ty Ty would be a great weekend. 99% of the people that don’t want wheeler just look up these players when they see their names and base everything off the numbers they see there. He would be a fine option, I would just prefer Ty Ty be the main guy.

22% from 3 and 3rd in NCAA in turnovers does explain itself.
Assist to turnover ratio is a thing for a reason. And if you have other players that can shoot you will be fine. He’s a good player, any human being that has a sense for the game can watch him play and know that.

Georgia played the fasted pace of any power conference team. Yes he had a high number of assist...but those numbers were inflated due to pace.

In football....Wheeler's numbers are what Terry Wilson's would be running an Air Raid offense...
20 TDs and 15 INTs and a 45-50% passer. Yes a lot of NUMBERS...but its generally because he's the football equivalent of throwing 40-50 passes a game.

He gets assists, but is terrible at running an offense...his team was worse with him on the court. He didn't get teammates involved, he padded stats. He can't finish at the rim. He can't shoot 3's. He hands the other team the ball. He holds the ball too long and stalls the offense...but make sure he gets his stats.

He had a worse Assist to Turnover ratio than Ashton Hagans

Good player, yeah. Good enough to start for a top 25 team, no.

I like it when the guy directing the offense won't allow the defense to sag off him or he'll make them pay. The guy directing the offense can be a lot more effective when he puts pressure on the defense with the threat of a shot.
Ashton Hagans shot 25% from 3 while at UK.

That’s why I said I would want Ty Ty. But you compared him to Hagans as if that was an insult. Hagans was a really good player.

Hagans was good. I loved Hagans...but Hagans wasn't great. Hagans had issues with turnovers and forcing the issue at times. Wheeler is a worse version of Hagans...smaller and out of control...

Wheeler is a bargin bin Hagans.

This ^^ times a million. If the defense can totally ignore his shooting it basically makes you play 4 on 5. We’ve seen that before and it always ends poorly.

Not many players are great. We’ve had the luxury of having quite a few at the PG spot but overall it’s a rarity

That's the reason so many on here hated him.
He also was the starting point guard on an Elite 8 team that lost in overtime and a team that won the SEC regular season and was poised to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
