FYI, two interesting games this weekend....
Ravenwood (Top 10 Tennessee) @ MRA
Battle Ground Academy (Top 15 Tennessee) @ Jackson Prep

Also of note MRA also plays Catholic of Baton Rouge (Top 5 Louisiana) and Collierville (Top 15 Tennessee) - Kudos to MRA for not scheduling patsies.

I'll give it to them, their first 7 games are going to be like a public school schedule. So yes, props to them.

Final three - Parklane, Brookhaven Academy and Simpson Academy.....sheesh.

Final three would still be, at minimum, competitive against JPS cellar dwellers.

MRA also got a break b/c. Park Place somehow got out of the FB scheduling in the new Big 20 system. So they don’t have to waste their time with that. Prep/Battleground is at St. George’s in Memphis. BG’s backup QB is Luke Bryan’s kid.

Park Place remained as 8 man football I think. How did MRA get a break?

They don't have to play a meaningless 50-0 blowout game and can schedule 1 more game vs a real team.
To my knowledge MRA is the only one truly willing to do this, and do it year in year out. The other 3 will play a public school team, but surround it with easier games. Or at best, just have one or two. That's like G5 teams crowing about beating a P5 but it's the main game they get up for, while the P5 has 10 of those.

If I’m one of the other MAIS schools I’d just refuse to play them. I guess they like the payday though.
