Maybe it’s the Mississippi State in me, but he’s just not going to learn to read defenses and process quickly enough.
He looked like he needs a redshirt to learn to play in the pocket. Offense needs to be simplified drastically for him. I think good defenses will just load the box and will have talented enough corners to make him progress through his reads.

I'll say one thing about KT. His passing looked greatly improved on the short and intermediate routes. He was very pinpoint. It also seems like Lebby teaches QB's to make the deepest route the first read, which is backwards from most offenses. It keeps us from hitting wide open short and crossing routes on time. If he would just adjust his read order and let KT methodically find the open man I think we'd be fine and our line would have time. Lebby also doesn't seem to scheme the other team or adjust during the game much at all. We looked like we were just running plays last night instead of throwing were the blitz came from and working the TE and shorter routes in there. Not many roll outs for an inexperienced QB with wheels to suite me either.

He missed a good many shorter throws. Some were in there but a lot were not. His most impressive throw was the hitch to the wide side of the field where the corner was playing 10 yards off the WR.

Hopefully we can bring in some WR that know how to block and it can open more of the screen game we utilized when Coleman was here.

If KT plays every game like he did last night, he will not make it through half the season without getting hurt. Your quarterback can’t just throw his body around like he did. He’s got to be able to stay in the pocket and be a passing threat to go along with his running, and he has to be smart when he runs. Slide or get out of bounds.
