He and McCray are the two top Offensive Tackles in Mississippi this year. LSU offered Jackson as well. I feel pretty good about MSU getting McCray from the Rebs as well.

does anyone know it amite county hs consistently produces D1 players?. I ask because his dad is his coach and would be some good "in-roads" to this school. by the way i have no idea how big a school this is... probably really small

also im assuming he was one of our four double secret probation private commits... any ideas on the other two

I don't know with the new HS classifications where it will fall.

They have produced their share of players- Chris Collins at Ole Miss was a Dandy Dozen and was Eli's favorite receiver, and his brother played for Ole Miss as well. We had an o-lineman named Brad Weathers from there.

Centreville Academy, which has produced Will Arnold for LSU has a great football program as well.

Luckily, I've learned pretty early on that recruiting is a crapshoot. Two star Dele Junaid may turn out to be very solid safety/linebacker for Ole Miss. If we land Montrell Conner, he may be a bust. Still fun to keep up with. With that said, getting three, four star guys is a lot better than competing with Arkansas State for guys. Kinda funny, per Spirit...

From what I can gather
Our coaches weren't impressed with his footwork. I think he's a solid D1 player though. It was a good pick up for state. I don't think LSU was ever serious at all. His offer from us was from the previous staff. He was offered as a JR. I don't think this staff ever evaluated him high.

if we can continue to get the top 1 or 2 o-linemen in mississippi each year, we will be able to go toe to toe with the bigs of the sec. line play is what separates the top of the sec from the middle to bottom

that they are constantly bitching about getting offensive linemen to commit. They have one of the top 2 OT's in the state and they say that they didn't offer because of his footwork. The kid is 16 years old and isn't exactly NFL ready in 11th grade. Who really is? According to Scout.com, LSU and Auburn both offered this guy. UM offered him last year and Nutt, for some reason, didn't. It doesn't make any sense to me.

but this is amazing what we are pulling in. This season is so vital.

is so pivotal. We can not afford to lose to them, in typical MSU fashion.

Good pick up for you guys. Personally, I would be happy to have him. Nutt was never too high on him for some reason. I presume part of it was that he hasn't got to see the kid play in person. Markuson evaluates all of his linemen before they are offered supposedly.

Jackson had an MSU & USM offer. He also had an Orgeron offer. Everything I've read indicates that Auburn didn't offer. If you read the updates on Scout & Rivals, you'll see that his father (the pastor) hasn't been consistent with what he tells the writers. LSU may have offered him, but they have evidently slow played him. Because his father and him admit that LSU is his dream school.

If Jackson would have committed to UM, Yancy would be pushing the LSU and possible Auburn offer and it would be a completely different story over there.

olemissbacker: "Great footwork! Nutt took one from LSU and Croom$!"

You won't get any arguement from me on that issue. But Yancy & Backer being dumbasses doesn't make me want to be one. I put those two in check on their ******** fairly frequently. It doesn't go over so well with the masses, but it happens.

Typical. I love how you all play this card everytime we beat yall out for a recruit. He was offered by Auburn and he was offered by LSU. These are facts, don't ask me how I know, but they are facts trust me.

I just want to pick up one player that Ole Miss truly wants before the year is over. Just one, I can deal with that.

Rebels are like Germans....either at your throat or at your feet. When they know they'll lose out, they take the "we know we're bad and we'd lose" attitude in an attempt to not get laughed at and mocked. When they're winning, you can't shut them up.

That's why the 1999 Egg Bowl was so much fun. At the end of the 3rd quarter, there were Rebel fans jumping around like monkeys yelling, "WHO SHUT THE DAWGS UP???" By the time Sirmones was all alone at the 15, most of the Hitler Youth had left.

You can pretend like this is sour grapes if you'd like, but I did say that "I'd be happy to have him".

However this is from his father's mouth..."He has offers from LSU and Southern Miss," Charles Jackson, Gabriel's father and head coach said. "I've seen out there where Ole Miss or Mississippi State have offered, but there may have been a misunderstanding, but those are the two offers he has."

Read the other articles and see what they say about Auburn.

Notice that Rosebowl mentioned the Auburn offer in his first article or two. Then notice that he quit mentioning Auburn until the last article in which the guy committed to you.

You can underline it and bold font it all you want, it doesn't change the fact that LSU, USM, and MSU were his only real offers. Does it hurt to admit that? Hell, we offered the WR from Cleveland the other day and yall only offered a grey shirt. That doesn't bother me. Again, good pickup. My team could use some big uglies.

left in the fourth quarter at last year's Egg Bowl. Shortly after DP returned the punt for a touchdown, all the key shakers disappeared.
