I think they mean largest domed stadium. The Carrier Dome, which is the only dome I can think of a college plays in exclusively, holds a smidge under 50K.

Why would you say that?

Please don't let this happen..

It won't happen but would be great for Jackson if it could. I'm looking at it like this.... Dome > No Dome.

Get MSU, Ole Miss, and Southern Miss involved and it will help. But it seems like the funding ideas are a bit sketchy.

University of Idaho plays in the Kibbie Dome. But I think it only seats 16k or so.

Because it would be a huge waste of $200M+ in taxpayer money. JSU needs a 35,000 seat stadium that costs maybe 1/4 that much if they ever decide to demolish the Vet for UMC expansion or commercial development.

Fine with me as long as they don't raise taxes and don't force ( or somehow coerce) MSU to play any games there. If you think we don't have student support at games now, just wait until our home games are played in Jackson. It's been tried before. Also the article uses a lot of words like "vision," "envision," "projected," and the like which make me very nervous. If JSU wants to raise the money and use it for themselves, fine, but I just don't see the state government cigar boys letting it happen that way.

They average a little over 15K/football game and want a 50k seat dome. That's just stupid enough that it might get some play in Jackson...

Second thought: JSU branch in Madison now. Pay Madison Central to expand seating a little and they can hold all of JSU's fans. Problem solved.

Pretty sure South Dakota State has one too.

But they need one in South Dakota and Syracuse because of the crappy weather; one is not needed in Jackson.
