we could very well be starting a QB that has not thrown a pass in a college game also. Im pretty sure it will be Tyson but Russell is a possibility.

Sadly, for some reason I am nervous about this game. I'm getting the same feeling I had last year before the La Tech game.

DAMNIT LT!

board up the stadium, and funnel all of the football ticket sales into getting Sydney eligible and the IPF built quickly.

for a host of reasons. Relax and enjoy this game. We win big. You and I could be Jackson St.

Now for the rest of the season? Be nervous.

a team full of DI dropouts and guys we didn't think were good enough will play with a chip on their shoulder.

JSU could make this game mighty uncomfortable

is toward the end of the game when it's ugly, guys getting nasty and somebody getting hurt.
I'm not worried about losing, and last year I predicted a loss to LaTech.

We will win by at least 30. I don't care how bad we are. The SWAC is the worst I-AA conference out there, by far. Why do you think they quit participating in the playoffs? McNair's Alcorn team lost by almost 50 in the first round one year.

The reason they do not participate in the playoffs is due to $$$$$$. They can make more money from a year end Classic against a rival than from the playoffs.

this is ridiculous. jackson state sucked last year. they are a running team (only 155 ypg last year through the air) and they are NOT running through our front 7. and now they are starting a rookie QB?! Please!

They were 7-5 against D-1AA, with no good wins and only averaged 21 ppg against those defenses. If they score on us, it will be off a trick play, a turnover returned for a TD, or pure dumb luck. We will shred their defense. The line on this game should be around 40, if there was one. Of their 8 "D-1 transfers", 2 come from schools with better programs than MSU, one from Auburn, one from TN. The rest are temple, south florida, etc. I would hope we have more than 8 D-1 prospects on our team.

This is a joke game. They can play with all the "chips on their shoulders" they want to...it's not happening. It may be close for the first qtr, then, it's over.

and a lot of guys will get PT which will be good before going to the plains and Nashville because we'll know what guys do when they get in a packed stadium against players other than our own. Which considering the number of freshman that will contribute this year, is huge

The only thing I'm worried about is scoring less than 50.

And I want to add one thing to your statistical analysis- their sepcial teams are atrocious. They're going to give us field position, and we're going to take advantage. I bet we block at least one kick as well.

when SWAC teams faced off against Division 1A teams.
Arkansas State 83, Texas Southern 10
Troy 65, Alcorn State 0
New Mexico State 45, Alcorn State 10
Louisiana-Monroe 37, Alabama A&M 15
UAB 45, Alabama State 10
Nevada 49, Grambling 13 (Grambling was SWAC champion)
Houston 55, Southern 3
Is anyone still worried about us losing after seeing these scores?

That would be absolutely horrible. We've got the same QB and RB's and a new offense that is made to score points. If we can't score but 35 points against JSU, we won't win another game all year. A well oiled machine is the likes of Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, etc. We could be a piece of **** clunker with no engine and should still beat JSU's *** by 8 or 9 TD's.

were also the main thrust of again an above 100 ranking in offense( NCAA five years running).

Now, I do expect much improvement but we have yet to prove that we could score against air.

To me 35 or so points would be ok. I'm Just somewhat cautious.

Not saying it'll happen again, and I'm sure Mullen will have the team prepared. I could see him going apeshit at halftime if it's even close.

That 5-6 Maine team would beat the **** out of Jackson State. That's how bad JSU is compared to the rest of I-AA and I-A.

the QB for South Carolina in 2000. Never had thrown a pass in a game before.

Let's just hope we are not MSU that night.

we are in trouble. In the LT game, I remember us coming out after halftime and getting dominated in the trenches....omen for a bad year....
