Big dude and athletic, I’d imagine with weights and he fills out more is going to be a beast in mlb

Parker is a dude. Hopefully he can cut big down a little on the swing & miss in the offseason. I expect him to have a big summer either in the Cape or with USA Baseball

Are the ones that contributed at all this year. Almost all of the pitchers can come back. Davis would be the biggest loss.
You left out Bevis.

They'll have to make big steps though. There were a lot of hits between:
Frye
Reece
stash
Stallman
Chance
Vic

I would think Teel or Nunnalee may go. Didn't we just get a mid major freshman of the year OF committed?

We had 21 pitchers and 20 Fielders on the roster. One pitcher had already left.

Have to come in with 34 total so that cuts 6 from the current roster.

needs:
Catcher- can we get Brick to come?
Middle Infielder-
3rd base-
Left Field-
1st base-

Bevis was a 3 year starter at Ball State. Did he not play enough this year so he can redshirt?

Best freshman ever.... or tied with Raffy.
Not sure about that. . . . .Raffy batted .406 as a freshman with 18 dingers and 78 RBI's. . . . .Raffy's worst season was actually his junior year in '85. . . . .He batted .300 with 20 dingers and 67 RBI's. . . .His sophomore year was the year he won the triple crown. . . . .Batted .415, 29 HR and 94 RBI. . . .Still the best offensive season ever in State history. . . ..

No. Still will have some dsa' on roster so won't have to get to 34. Not sure how many dsa but some for sure.

We played a much easier schedule in 1983. We played 3 teams that made the NCAA tournament. Going 4-1 vs Bama, 1-2 vs Florida St & 1-2 vs Texas in the regional.

Seriously, how many of our guys will come back?
Well, TV, McPherson, Parker, and maybe even Milewski and Stone are going to all command a small fortune in NIL to stick around. Probably $800k - $1 million apiece for each of the first 3 guys on that list. Maybe 60-70% for the other two….and we’re also competing with the draft on Milewski.

So, might lose a guy or two further down the roster. It’s good to see we’ve already got a couple of quality bats from the portal.

I’ve only watched the last 25 years of MSU baseball but Parker is the most impressive freshman bat I’ve ever seen on our team and I’m not sure it’s close. Mangum had a great freshman year but you kinda knew what Jake’s ceiling was…. Parker looks like someone who could be a league MVP in MLB one day. I think his ceiling is that high.

He does, he’s got size, athleticism. Great hitter. He is going to be a hoss.

He barrels up everything he gets the bat on. Haven’t seen that from a freshman in a long time. Special.

I think my first clue was the USM midweek game at the Dude where he hit an absolute piss middle to right field that left the yard in about a millisecond. And then that weekend in Oxford I believe he homered twice. Until that point I kinda thought he was just a raw freshman bat that would be in and out of the lineup, but that week made me realize “oh ok he’s already one of the best two hitters on our team”
