So is the program in full reload the roster annually - bring in multiple recruits, force out multiple bench transfers?

Assuming Harper, we have 4 recruits coming in next year. Potentially 5 if we add someone else.

How are the scholarship numbers going to work out?

Mag will be in Year 5 after this season, there is no guarantee anymore that players are going a full 5 years at any one school.

We lose Hyatt, likely Cliff, Fernandes, Williams (assuming he commits). We only have 1 incoming guard targeted in Harper, with Davis, Simpson and Griffiths in the backcourt equation.

There's room for another guard/wing for sure.

Plus, Pikiell always leaves 1 spot in reserve that he has given to a walkon each year. That spot can be used in 2024 if needed. That gives him 5 spots for 2024. Actually, 6 if he brings in 2 grad transfers this year.

Sorry to go off script but Montverde in FL has 4 top 20 2024 prospects and then the #1 2025 prospect. That's insane.

Boylan was a great high school coach at St.Patricks before moving to Florida and head coach at Montverde.

One of the early great stealer of players as I remember. Great coach is a stretch
He wouldn't have gotten the job at Montverde if he wasn't a great coach. His battles against Hurley at St. Anthony were classic matchups.

When Boyle went to coach at St. Pat's he struggled playing in the Mountain Valley Conference. He became a great coach when Shaheen Holloway showed up at the school. That was his breakthrough recruit and to his credit he built it from there.

That must have been interesting with Holloway’s st patricks teams playing schools like the AL Johnson’s and new providence’s of the world.

Boyle’s son, his assistant Kevin Boyle Jr., played at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU).

It was a one man show for a while but shortly after Holloway came and more guys like Al Harrington started to show up they left the conference and played as an independent.

Nick, I think great coaching staffs have to keep recruiting. The more strong relationships a staff develops, the more choices they have when a couple of good players hit the portal.

A big reason he got the job was he was a great stealer of players, so was Hurley, but as coaches they weren't in the same world.
