It's a joke that every person watching on television instantly knows for certain if a pitch was a ball or a strike but the people actually playing the game are left to wonder.
Yep, unfortunately there's the rub which you just mentioned so there will be undoubtedly some sort of "gameplan" as to when and where you will use your 2 "helmet taps". In addition to it being a half *** fix of course like you said... They only allow this through nine innings, so unless they tweak this between now and next year your're SOL if you have any of your two taps left going into Extra Innings LOL.

If only umpires and referees could be held accountable for their bad calls. Somehow leagues want to continue pretending they are above reproach.
There's enough video they could be graded and it could be agreed on you get certain number wrong ones it's graded and if you get base grades on being wrong you are fired. Add it to evils. Or if you have a bad game you are suspended
I don’t know why they can use track man and implement some type earpiece that the HP umpire wears. If it’s deemed a strike by TM then they immediately get a tone in their ear, if it’s a ball you get no tone. Everyone already gets the track man info instantaneously so there wouldn’t be any arguing balls and strikes. Seems too easy to me.
Robot umpires can't get here fast enough. It seems like umpires are getting worse and more petulant about it by the day.
