Talked to a coach for Columbus High. He say Stanford told him they will offer if he comes to camp out there. He is really smart and is considering Stanford for the prestige of the degree from them. This coach is a Mississippi fan and said Jake danced around while talking to him about the bears. The coach said he told him to go where he thought was best for Jake.
That being said, the coach said he is MSU's to lose unless he decides to go to Stanford.

it'd be the Stanfords, Dukes and Vanderbilts that would better entice me to leave the state, not the Alabamas and LSUs. That being said, few 18 yr. olds are mature enough to go that far from home, and few care about the academic side. While I don't necessarily agree with all the this school is better than that (I feel like the student makes the school, not the other way around), a degree from Stanford gets people's attention.

Stanford has a unique campus and California has lots of exquisite scenery. I guess it depends on where his heart is if he takes the visit. Personally, if I wasn't born a Bulldog, that offer would be hard to pass.

Last signing class, they signed the #2 and #4 OT's in the country, both 5*s. That leaves him with likely one year to play if he's lucky.

That said, I agree that Stanford is a very enticing scholarship offer... They've been OL U the past few years, so it's an honor to get interest from them. Will be very happy if he gets on board at BDC...

and Hevesy can get him to the NFL if he works hard and from what I hear Jake has the work ethic to do just that. I'm calling Jake to MSU!

at a certain junior QB name Lee, who is several inches taller then his older brother. He is also a high quality individual as well as student.

Thomas may get a late push from Bama if they have a need.

There is also a sophmore QB at New Hope HS that is getting some SEC attention. He's a gamer and a tall kid.

You would have to try to have a campus that trashy in Northern California. I dare say a weedeater had been used in a very looooong time. The baseball field("Sunken Diamond" is spoken of in reverentialtones) is a dump. A have never been on a campus where the people were more arrogant. They makethe crimson tiders look humble.

Yes, a Stanford degree is very respectable, I'm sure the education wonderful, but I was in no way impressed. I will encourage my kids to go to Vandy if they want an education of that type.

However, I think college kids are arrogant just about everywhere these days. But I'm liking our chances with Jake.

But didn't Adam Cabell sign with Stanford? He was a linebacker from Jackson Prep. Football didn't pan out for him. Don't know what happened to him but knowing his family he is probably operating on people now.

Jason went straight to Millsaps. They both played football butI don't think either one of them played all 4yrs. I think they are both doctors now.
I played at Millsaps with both of them. Pretty good guys.

lil' Lee would be much worse than his brother and that's saying something. I can't imagine any SEC programs looking at him for football. He is a pretty decent pitcher for their baseball team though.

stanford is a step above vandy. it's on par with ivy league schools. also, you can't ask to be in a better location for internships and networking.<div>
</div><div>i've also been to a football game at stanford (before the new renovation) and thought the campus was very nice. maybe we just saw different parts of the campus or different times of the year or whatever. </div><div>

just to make sure my kid finished up a Stanford degree. Like mentioned above, a degree from Stanford will get your kid noticed by many people.
