My question then is how in the world does this kid think he can get drafted in the NBA with those PUTRID shooting numbers???!!!!

There is NO WAY an NBA team is going to draft him when he can't shoot the basketball!!!

Hope I'm wrong, but this looks like a Bargain Basement deal for Coach Pope and UK.
Well when we have swung and missed so many times now you’re on the bargain shelf looking for the blue light special at K-Mart.

How are we improving?
You know we are in big trouble when we celebrate this. Our coach just said nothing before the 7th like he was waiting but no it really was him losing player after player. Now we are expected to be excited? This is a big drop off from butler. Hopefully this guy is the back up. I don’t see it and the there’s no boom just a leak. That’s a sign the staff isn’t too thrilled what going on. I wonder how much this guy is gonna cost us

Actually I will say a couple of things about this more

Excellent assist %. Low turnover %. And he did shoot 89% from the free throw line.

So if this is a "pass first" type player, it might not be so bad.

But again........we need studs for him to distribute the ball too lol.

Quick synopsis from looking online:

-RSCI 97th ranked recruit in the country in 2023
-two productive seasons at Pitt with 50 combined starts
-excellent free throw shooter. Love that when closing out close games
-from Texas where Brooks had recruited him previously at Baylor
-going to love him in interviews. All academic conference member
-John Lucas II is his godfather
-he’s a lefty! Will be cool to watch all our back court lefties this season!
-turns 21 in September

26 percent three point shooter. Is this one we should be excited about?
Yes! Pitt sucked. He was asked to carry the load. He’s a great ball handler and defender. Shot 88% from ft line. This guy is good. Will be a respectable 3 point shooter when he’s not asked to do everything and he has other shooters at his disposal

He cant be any good since the doom and gloom crowd didnt predict it.
Numbers don't lie.

He is what he is, let's just hope Coach Pope and his staff can IMPROVE those HORRID numbers. If they can, this kid is athletic and strong enough to be a big help at the PG position while Acaden and Jasper mature.

If he can get that 3pt % up to 35 and finish at the rim in traffic while shutting down the opposing PG, I'll be ELATED. But this dude is NOT on the level of MOST of the PG's Coach Pope has went after during this Transfer portal cycle.

He must think they can use him. We shall see.

Quick guard will get around his man. Just doesn’t come across as a Pope system player. We shall see.
Actually, I didn't think he looked quick, at all. That was actually the first thing that stuck out to me. So, I wonder how that's gonna work against way more athletic SEC defenders. Now, I will say I did like his size and finishing strength. That impressed me. But, I didn't see quickness and all.
