And this shows again how good Stansbury and his staff recruits. Now next years class can be made up of primarily big men. Now we can look forward to te anti Stans crowd to try and spin a negative out of this but they will have a hard time on this, the kid is a pure shooter.

Since you are connected, what is going to happen? If Twanny isnt leaving, then is Benock a walk on come August?
As for spinning a negative out of this, i just really really hope he is able to immediately play and contribute. Otherwise, what was the point?...we can sign an undersized and lowstarred2g that can shoot at anytime.

I didn't think he even had that. I have always been under the impression it was either Lipscomb or nothing for him before we came with an offer late.hullabaloodog said:As Veazy said last night in his chat, Stewart had offers from schools like MTSU and Chatanooga. Steele may never be as good as Barry, but his offer list says, at the very least, that he's a better prospect that Stewart was coming out of high school.
That won't fix the situation since a player on any scholarship, athletic or academic, counts against the total number allowed.Dawgbreeze said:The kid is a good prospect. It doesn't make a **** how we got him, we got him and that took some work. I continue to be amazed how the blind hatred continues. Coach, please get on some meds. You are absolutely obsessed with your negativity about our basketball team. Are you sure you are not Richard Williams, Duane Reboul, or an Ole Miss fan. Gee, you could turn a rainbow into a hurricane. Bitched when Stans went to Tenn to recruit the kid and missed Jarvis's award even though Jarvis said he understood why he was gone.***** when he signs a good player. Give us a break for at least a few months. Now, as far as opening up the scholarship, there are several options and most folks think benock will be on an academic schorlarship but i can assure you, we wouldn't have signed the kid if this hadn't been discussed and thought out. Soryy that the staff didn't call Fish or you to see if it was okay. Life sucks doesn't it!!!
Oddly enought, size doesnt just relate to height. A165lbSG that is 6'3 is undersized.Hanmudog wrote:[/b said:Since when is a 6'3 shooting guard undersized? It is pretty rare to have a really good shooting guard that is taller than 6'5 in the college game.
Dawgbreeze]There may be one who leaves on his own, there could be an academic situation, or someone who is a medical hardship. Just give the coaches some credit and what does it matter if none of us know. Check in areound Sept. 1st and I'm sure it will be clear to all. I'm sure nobody is sitting on pins and needles other than the detractors who are hoping all the good players leave so they can ***** and moan some more.
Its a message board about MSU sports. That means MSU sports issues are discussed, predicted, etc. So when one of the major MSUsports oversigns in a given year, there will be discussion on how the team will get down to the acceptable level.Dawgbreeze said:so crap happens, but if we get a chance to get a kid who is better than what we have, then we better jump at it. It is a good pickup. None of the rest matters until it plays out. Let the coaches and MSU worry about it, they will get it worked out.
