Memphis just found out that their superstar center Wiseman is ineligible and it might be five r the whole season. Penny Hardaway helped him and his family move to Memphis an NCAA violation.

Doesn't matter he has shown enough to be the number 1 pick regardless . he just now gets to spend some of that agent front money early.

I'll say this UK and those other Blue Bloods better choose their words carefully Before they start throwing stones at Penny . If Penny goes down you can bet he going to air the dirty laundry of the other suitors for Wiseman. In which Cal wanted him just as bad.

Should have went to SuCkS son.

They never get caught errrrrr have American players ineligible.
Nobody at UK would have paid to move the family like penny did. No freakin way.

When it all comes out I bet we find out that Memphis hid the “new information that has come to light” during the initial vetting.

It is a temporary judgement that gives Memphis time to present their rebuttal to the NCAA.

When the majority of players come from low income families the money is just to hard to pass up. The risk is very small for the elite players. Let's say Wiseman is ineligible all year. He is still at top 5 pick. Train for a year without college.

The NCAA has too many rules and it is impossible to comply with and for them to enforce. It is an absolute disaster.

Poor kid IMO. Penny and his parent messed him up.

I think the NCAA should let Wiseman play, but make Penny sit out the year. That’s more fair than making the kid sit out.

I mean this probably comes down to the fact that Penny was just dumb and didn’t know the rules. He didn’t think “I was a booster for the program I coached and I gave a potential recruits mother $11k

I’d say 100% of Power 5/6 (Big East in CBB) have a few players that have had something like this happen, but the schools aren’t dumb enough to have it directly connected to their coaches and boosters.

I was doing some reading on this Memphis mess. I didn’t realize a court judge could smack the NCAA down. I wish we had boosters/judges that smacked.
They are taking a page from UNC and others by thumbing their noses a the NCAA. IDK but I doubt they have the influence to be successful with it.

If he would have went to Duke, his family could have had cushy, well paying jobs at Duke University Hospital. Nothing shady about that.

And would have put them in a million dollar home as well. Like they did the families of Marvin Bagley & Zion Williamson.

Penny paid money out of his own pocket, he made his bed now let him sleep in it. Hell from what I saw last year Penny can't coach any better than the guy coaching the grade school down the road. And that may be an insult to the grade school coach.

If you look up improper benefits in the dictionary, you will see this story. To hear the ESPN talking heads trying to spin this after trying to make Mempiss the odds on favorite in the final four is comical. "How was he supposed to know he would be the coach at Mempiss? Yeah so then he was a booster giving money to a potential prospect.
