That sounds about right, and whether people want to call it strategy or they want to call it necessity due to not signing blue chippers every year, the fact of the matter is that Mullen started red-shirting the vast majority of his classes long ago and it's now paying off. A lot of credit goes to him for having a plan and sticking to it

I think Dez is a redshirt. Cooper was the freshman LB that wasn't able to enroll that was in the same mold as Dez/McKinney/KJ

Wow, that's really impressive. This class was the first one that Freeze was able to redshirt most of but we are still playing about 7 Freshmen. The last 2 had no choice but to hit the field.

Dez is a redshirt freshman, but I think he is saying we may see a true freshman with Harris going down as his back up is JT Gray, who is supposedly tough to keep off the field along with Gerri Green. We're just too deep at LB to have to play them, thankfully.

That's what I was thinking, re: Cooke, but I have been told he is really more of a punter than a kicker. We could see him try a long FG at the end of a half, or something. Seriously, though, since we have already used him, I would like to see him continue being the KO specialist. I think he has just a slightly stronger leg than Bell. Bell can go ahead and resume the punting duties if he is 100%.
